    UL Basketball Basketball--New Recruits

The 2 players, that were heavily recruited by Nate Dixon....are players-talk to a good friend of mine-who coaches at a college in Florida...and he said we got 2 very good players and he was very surprised we even got one of them much less both!

He said he knows Dixon-and they guy can flat out recruit...

What good is it if they get no coaching? We have players now with talent and we can't beat NAIA or Southland teams. We need a change NOW. Let one of the assistants take over for the rest of the year, then do a coaching search. At least we will have an excuse for our record and, who knows, we might even see improvement.

Brad, if those guys are anywhere near as good as the three guys you mentioned, I will take them. Those were three outstanding players. That is a pretty high standard. I agree we need players of that caliber to return to our rightful place in the basketball world.

Brad are you coaching anywhere? If so would you be interested in coming back as an assistant.

FYI, I met your parents when the Cajuns played Charlotte in the Charlotte Christmas tournament quite a few years back, nice folks.

PS: AJ (aka, the easter bunny) was one of my favorite players that the Cajuns have ever had in the Cajun Dome, you are up there too.

Wait until Lee is gone, please!!!! Maybe if Coach Champagne would come back to Cajun Land you could work with him.

I hope your mom is doing okay, she was a nice lady, even gave me free tickets to the UL vs Charlotte game, you guys crushed Bobby Lutz and the 49-ers that day.

Brad, have you ever had a serious talk to anyone at UL? I know that Joe Savoie would hear pretty much anyone's views. He may not agree with you, but he does listen. (I'm sure others will disagree, but I have know him for 20+ years and I know him pretty well.)

I've been a lurker on this board for a long time, and I know how much you want to coach at UL, but I wonder if you need to go somewhere else and build your resume? If you have success there, and then choose not to return it would be our loss. I just hate to see someone who shows your passion for the game "sitting on the bench" waiting his turn.

When I was a kid and my coach would not put me on the field my father told me to go stand by the coach. Eventually when someone messed up coach would put me in the game just to give me a chance. When I got on the field I proved I deserved to be there. I'm telling you to go get close to the powers that be at UL, and maybe, just maybe, they will give you a chance. I fear that your posting on this board looks like you are vulture circling above Lee waiting for your chance to swoop down on him.

Just how good are these 2 kids? NOBODY else recruited them. I hope they pan out.
