Thread: The Book: 2002-03 Louisiana Football season

  1. Default Hogs vs ULL

We have provided some travel info for those who are coming to Fayetteville. There is a lot of construction going on through Arkansas. There are links to hotels in and surrounding Fayetteville also. If you book your room through the links, a worthy cause in Arkansas will earn a small percentage of your purchase.
Have a good trip. Fall foliage is awesome right now.
    Go Hogs
    Thanks

    Ragin' Cajuns TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!

    WHAT A TRAVISTY !!!!!!!!!!

Thank goodness that play did not cost us the game.

I spoke to several of the players after the game and
was amazed to hear that the some of them actually
knew a few of the officials from their highschool
careers. It seems most of these guys still officiate
high school games. That needs to be corrected, this conference should have full NCAA referees not partime
refs that call both highschool and college. This is
not best practice nor fair to the players and coaches.

    Thanks for the clip. CTB

It is hard to pick players when so many contributed. I'll say that there were quite a few big plays at key moments from the seniors. They came ready to play. Man! Was Tillman fired up or what?! I saw something that really stood out late in that game. How many times have you seen this team or any team up by 1 score with 3 minutes left FAIL to get a first down and put the game away? Props to Jerome Coleman for getting it done on the ground when we needed it the most.

  7. UL Football Rekieta, Comiskey earn Sun Belt weekly honors

LAFAYETTE - Last Saturday's 13-10 victory over Arkansas State provided a positive finish to the home campaign for UL, but it also earned attention for a pair of Ragin' Cajuns who keyed the victory.

Quarterback Erik Rekieta was named Offensive Player of the Week, and place kicker Sean Comiskey was chosen Special Teams Player of the Week in the Sun Belt Conference.

Rekieta, starting his first game for the Cajuns for the injured Jon Van Cleave, hit 25-of-33 passes for 256 yards and a 30-yard touchdown to Wayne Stein. He is the 10th quarterback in school history to throw for over 250 yards in a game, and fell one completion short of setting a new mark.

The Navarro Junior College transfer is also expected to start this week's road game at Arkansas.

  8. UL Football Cajuns hope for better performance than last non-league game

    Advertisers-Bruce Brown

LAFAYETTE - The last time UL played a non-Sun Belt Conference opponent, it didn't work out so well.

The Ragin' Cajuns were buried 48-0 at LSU on Oct. 5 before beginning their Sun Belt campaign.

Now, five games into the SBC season and armed with confidence gained from back-to-back victories, the Cajuns prepare for a road game at Arkansas this week.

"We feel better about ourselves going into this game," coach Rickey Bustle said. "The last big (non-league) game we played was against LSU, and we didn't play well. We're playing against an SEC team again, but at a time when we're playing well.

"We're feeling better, but we're not satisfied. Bring on a big test, and let's see where we are this time."

Uncle Gaylords by the downtown square is well known for dinner and brunch. The Marketplace in Springdale is good along with a small town called Tontitown by Fayetteville that has 3 or 4 awesome italian places, Mary Maestries, and others.

    Thanks

I'm no civil engineer, but I don't think that cannon is heavy enough to leave a 30-plus year indention in the surface at Cajun Field. That corner of the stadium has been dug and redug several times in various sprinkler system and drainage repairs. It is most likely a gradually worsening sinkhole.

    LOL
A sinkhole that follows the programs fortunes. Well it should soon start filling in.

Seriously, it is just a coincidence that the sink hole is in the same spot where the cannon once rested.

I never liked ooh LaLa when someone said it, but it sure sounds good with music.

    ps Do you ever sleep?
