UL Football North Texas Game score predictions

Finding a way to win is the key to our success in these next 4 conference games. In the 4 games (Houston, UAB, NMSU, MTSU) we have already played against "like" teams we are 1-3 but consider the following.

    Points scored total= 114 or 28.5 a game
    Points allowed total= 115 or 28.75 a game

we have lost the last 2 games by an average of 8 points. My point is we are keeping it close in these games but need to find a way to get over that hump and finish teams off. Hopefully a return to Cajun Field is just what the doctor ordered to get this done.

    My prediction,

    Louisiana 24
    North Texas 21

    Cajuns 20

    North Texas & Arkansas.

  6. UL Football Looking back at the Middle Tennessee game

I can't believe the running game netted only 20 yards after grossing 81 yards against the nations #1 defense the week before.

    Ragin' Cajuns Ground OUT

    Turbine,

As usual once we got behind, the run game went out the window. Also they were keying on Coleman, coming right
through and making contact in the backfield. We actually ran the ball some in the first two series.

    Geaux Cajuns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. UL Football Tuesday Football Practice

Raining. . . must be game day at the Swamp. Nope just practice time.

The guys definitely do not have the look of a 1-6 team. Coach Bustle and the staff seem to have them focused on the game at hand.

Jon Van Cleaves passes do not miss the mark and the dropped balls of practice from earlier in the year have virtually disappeared.

The practices are so organized, it just give me a good feeling about what is around the corner.

Standing on the sidelines as I was, I became really impressed with the practice habits of Ricky Arceneaux and the encouragement he gave his fellow players. If he keeps this up he is definitely a team leader in the making.

Arceneaux was a wide receiver for Carencro 5-A state championship team, and helped lead the Bears to three playoff appearances. He once caught three passes for 137 yards and touchdown for Carencro.

Ricky is making the transition from wide receiver to free safety, and has played in 2 games this year and has 4 tackles. Playing time is slim due to Ivan Taylor and Charles Tillman being seniors.

Seeing his attitude when talking to other players gives me comfort that he is doing his part to keep the moral high. A person with Ricky Arceneaux's playing potential and wining attitude will be needed next year.

Of course this all goes back to the coaches who are determined to do their best to right this ship or at the very least point it in the right direction as they build for the future.

Anyway that’s the feeling I walked away from practice with on this fine rainy Tuesday.

Rain or shine, I can’t wait for Saturday.

Default United Louisiana Cajuns- Halftime, Workday, et al.

    Several things.

    1) All of you who worked to help spruce up the football stadium, the University is going to recognize us at halftime this Saturday.

    Green is a no-no.
Listen for the announcement for us to go down by the field before halftime, or just head down there as the 2nd quarter winds down.

    2) Gerald needs about 10 or so people to work for a couple of hours Sunday, removing the chain link fences around Cajun Field. He hopes to have the brick entrance gates up by IU, or ASU at the latest.

We will meet out there at 10:00AM, bring pliers, wrenches, etc.

    3) We will tailgate, as always, by the Eauque (oak) this Saturday. Drop by. I know that some of you have your own traditional tailgating areas. You might consider in the future moving out along the fence. If there is a lot of activity along Bertand and Congress, it will pique the interest of people who drive by on gameday.

    See you Saturday!
