Thread: The Book: 2002-03 Louisiana Football season

  1. People Chris Gannon To Lead Homecoming Parade

Join former Ragin’ Cajun Chris Gannon on Nov. 2 as he leads this year’s Homecoming parade as parade marshal. Gannon was a one-man wrecking crew for the Ragin’ Cajuns defense from 1985-88. He ranks third all-time in school history in sacks, while placing fifth all-time in tackles by a lineman. Gannon, a two-time All-South Conference and All-Louisiana selection, was honorable mention All-America following his senior season in 1988.

He was taken in the third round of the 1989 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. He played five seasons in the NFL with the Patriots and San Diego Chargers. After his professional career, he returned to the University, first as a graduate assistant football coach, then being named the school’s strength and conditioning coach in 1997.

Vehicles will line up at Cajun Field on Cajundome Boulevard at 8:30 a.m. The parade rolls at 10 a.m. traveling from Cajundome Boulevard onto Johnston Street and turning right at East St. Mary Boulevard. The parade continues in front of the Alumni Center and turns onto Taft Street ending at Denbo/Bancroft Dorms.

The public is invited to view the parade from the grounds of the Alumni Center. A reviewing stand will be available, and visitors are welcome to attend the Open House at the Center beginning at 9:30 a.m.

    Ragin' Cajuns Attendance 2002

I really believe Coach B. is THE man for the job.
Obviously by the #'s so do a lot of other folks.
We can really show we're serious by turning out for
HC, then again for ASU, plus maybe have a few folks
make the road trip to Monroe. These are all do able
    expectations.

LET'S GET BEHIND OUR LOUISIANA RAGIN' CAJUNS!!!!!!!!!!

    Default

At first I was very disappointed in the attendence for the North Texas game, but when you take into consideration that around 8,400 people came out in horrible weather to see a 1-6 football team, that is not too bad. I think if the weather is as good as predicted there will be over 17,000 for this weekends game. 8,000 diehards is a pretty good core base to build on.

    Default North Texas Game Photos

This first photo shows we need to do some painting on the outside of Cajun Field. By the way, to everyone who worked on the stadium inside, painting, cleaning, doing the murals, it looked great!! The scoreboard is impressive, and the field itself looked in good condition. Despite the rain and the outcome of the game, I truly enjoyed myself.
