UL offensive coordinator: We're trying to hold it all together

Munoz is a moron. Plain and simple. He couldn't coach himself out of a wet paper sack. If he's calling the plays (Hud boot licker as we know Hud is calling plays) he's proven he is an idiot. Again, I skimmed the article, but a quick glance is him blaming players. I'm not going to read anything that remotely throws our players under the bus. Why can't we get a coach that owns their misdeeds? I swear I'm starting to hope we lose out, just to see how stupid and idiotic our coaches will sound and to hear t-joke's and idiotFarmer 's responses to the RCAF losing approximately another $20,000 a year? I'm not that large a giver, about 1/25 of that, but I know 25 people who give what I do are stopping any further donations till IdiotFarmer and Hud are gone. Some are cancelling all tix except baseball and are giving minimum for the point system. I'm a nobody, so imagine those people who actually have cash?

You guys got to get off this "throwing the players under the bus" schtick. He did no such thing. Regardless of what some think, the players have to actually go out and execute the particular game plan and we don't know even a portion of what is being coached during the week for their particular opponent. To say that certain units play inconsistently and its hard getting all of them playing well at the same time is not throwing them under the bus.

I didn't see this as Munoz throwing the players under the bus. He pretty clearly described, almost to the tee, exactly what most of us see week to week. He sees all of the player/unit inexperience and mistakes. That does describe 90% of what we see. He and Hud still believe that if they improve what the players do, what the coaches are dong is fine. Since many of us are not so certain that's the case, it sounds a little detached to listen to the player/unit evaluations and not hear any contrition or ownership by the staff for any of the "constant breakdowns". I can understand to a great extent why we aren't going to hear that... but I could easily read the exact same thing in this article from a coach that isn't getting his job done... and it wouldn't sound much different. What exactly leads to having so much inexperience and so many things " breaking down"? I was told over and over that our problems last year were inexperience and injury. Midseason... "Inexperience" begins to only apply to true freshmen... and even that begins to no longer be acceptable.

Oh I remember that ULM game. Fenroy got the ball and ran at will all night. He must have broke off 4, 5, or 6 20 yard plus runs. He finished the game a couple of yards shy of 300. He had 290+.

I remember watching college football final and they gave Fenroy a helmet sticker after that game.

See J1M's point. It's like the coaches don't know bad they are doing at their jobs. So they say this unit isn't playing well, or so and so had a bad game, or turnovers, or injuries, or whatever. They don't look in the mirror and see the horror show that is their gameplans on both sides of the ball. It's not throwing the players under the bus, to me it's worse.

Explain to me the "horrow show" that the defense put on Saturday night. I must have missed it because the defense looked pretty good to me. Actually, other than penalties, the offense did not look bad either. What do you do write these messages in advance and just pick one at random to post?

The defense played GREAT. I really like what the coaching staff has done this season with the defense since the current DC took over. We need to keep this guy as long as we can.

The most interesting thing from Saturday were comments Falgout made in the booth. He said he never saw the WR group block as well as they did Saturday. We need to keep doing that. Also, he said we ran a lot of 2 TE sets, and these 2 things were the reason we ran the ball as well as we did.

This is probably not the spread type of offense Hud wants to run, but it is what fits the talent we have.

Not knowing anything about Jennings prior to the season I thought he was a dual guy. After watching 1/2 a season AJ will never be accused of being a dual threat QB. He is not as fast as I thought and he looks for a place to go down when running in open field.

You are correct! It provides protection for the tackles and we attacked their front seven which is their weakness. Texas St. actually has two good DBs, one corner is a pro-prospect. Coach Munoz slid the pocket at times and that allowed Jennings a little more time to look over the defense when they passed.

Rick, Jennings injured his ankle in the South Alabama game and has been receiving treatment for it every Monday. He cannot plant well on it, which explains why he is not running the ball much and isn't that elusive. He can run the ball, he did that well at LSU.

I don't follow lsuam closely. But the little bit I've seen of miles' O I don't recall many designed runs for the QB. Jennings was not a good runner prior to the south Al game either. Regardless if he is injured or not doesn't change the fact that in order for the O to go we need the QB to be a serious threat to run so that the deffense has to account for him and can't key solely on the RB. The last time we had a good offense that didn't have a true dual threat QB was Jake. Hell that might be the only time since Brian Mitchell. I am not suggesting that a change should be made but you could see the difference a dual threat could be on the few plays tha JD kept it late in the game on Saturday.

As a matter of fact the Saturday before the season started I was talking with a friend that goes to every state game in BR and he said Jennings was one of the slowest QBs he'd ever seen in the sec.
