I agree with your last statement 100% which shows this staff has absolutely failed at requruting and developing a QB out of high school in the last 4 yrs. I have seen Desormeaux in the past play his butt of injured, can't say I see the same level of toughness at that position today.

I don't watch practice, but no doubt about it in the small sample we have of games, Davis can extend plays with his feet better than we are seeing now. Many times I've seen receivers covered AJ have all day then he chunks it out of bounds. JD could turn that into positive yards with his feet. Also no question if he is running zone read it would open things up for Eli as they would have to respect his ability to run.

Not saying I have the answer but ULM hung 40 on that txst D and we not going to see another defense that bad. If we stick to status quo it will be a long 2nd half with very few points.

I was coming on here to tell Hud and the fans I was impressed with the turn around against TxSt.

We still have major issues on both fronts, but the team did play as one for the most part.

It's something to build on. I still believe Munoz is a liability, but I'll retract the idiot part. Hud still needs to improve the talent. And game planning. Farmer needs to be fired. TJoe needs to grow a pair.

Now in all that kumbaya - let's remember a couple things - AJ has been playing injured, impressive for a 5th year senior who has the least amount invested of anyone. Especially after the rough stretch our coaches have placed him with the game plans versus Tulane and NMSU. Our oline needs VAST improvement, our receivers need route running lessons, and AJ needs to work on compensating for his injury affect throws. As far as AJ being a running threat, if our oline gave him time to throw, then him taking off would actually garner more yards of space. But right now he's running for his life at the snap.

Idaho and ULM are the 2 possible wins we have left. If we drop either, I'll return to my regularly scheduled calling for heads to roll.

FYI- The ulm defense scored 14 of the 40 against tsu

Many folks will be frustrated if we drop a few more games. However calling for heads to roll on a message board will only allow you and others to vent. That serves a purpose in itself. However, those calls are meaningless as far as having any impact in the current situation

This is the only pace I've seen or heard anything on an AJ injury. I read the DA everyday and he has never been listed there. I have listened to all of Hud's pres conferences and the injury has never been mentioned there either, to my knowledge.

In my humbled opinion from what I have seen this year AJ is doing nothing for this offense that Brooks Haack couldn't do.

    Jennings = Haack

Their offense is that bad too.

It's painfully obvious that this coaching staff wouldn't know a Quarterback (Pocket or Dual Threat) if it jumped up and bit them on the ___.

That can be argued, HOWEVER, if Haack were still here as opposed to Jennings, we could count on Nixon being the starter, not Haack, imo.

The offense did what they were supposed to do against an inferior unit.

The most interesting thing from Saturday were comments Falgout made in the booth. He said he never saw the WR group block as well as they did Saturday. We need to keep doing that. Also, he said we ran a lot of 2 TE sets, and these 2 things were the reason we ran the ball as well as we did.

This is probably not the spread type of offense Hud wants to run, but it is what fits the talent we have.
You are correct and I agreed with what Richie said about the running game with 2 TE's but I'd also add the fact that TXST also had 1 guy on their defense over 250 pounds. 1 guy and he was the NT. They were a small unit and if we just volume blocked them, we were going to be successful at some point. In other words, while it looked and worked good against an opponent we matched up really well with, lets wait until we're successful against better defenses.

Mike how many straws does it take to break a camels back. We need to continue to let the administration know of our extreme disappointment. Message boards is the very least we could do, boycotting the concessions is the next, and probably we should.

    I see your point.

I just hate what we do on offense against better D lines. We come out in 3 WR sets and 1 RB. We are either flinging it sideways for no gain, running ELI into a wall, or lofting 50/50 balls. It is PAINFUL to watch that offense.

If Hud insists on having running QBs, then he needs to RUN THEM for his offense to work. If AJ is hurt, he needs to sit. We saw what Davis is capable of running the ball.

The way forward is clear to me. If AJ is healthy, he needs to play and RUN more than he passes. If AJ is injured, he needs to sit for Davis.

    This is dead nuts on.
