Wouldn't an appeal have been the place to address that? I'm a layman and all, but it seems to me that a judgment based on a misapplication of the law would be grounds for appeal, right?

We weren't part of the original agreement. But, you should be careful what you wish for. I think the folks in Monroe have actualy considered it, though
