To be successful, a call in sports talk show has to have knowledgible callers. 1420 has three people who call in. Jay, Ronnie and Troy. I don't give a rat's you know what about what they have to say, especially when they hijack a topic to talk about the NBA. There is a caller id on 1420's phone. They know who's calling. I don't understand why those three callers calls are taken everyday during ever show. Why not just give Ronnie and Jay their own show? That way I would know when not to listen rather than change the channel every time I hear one of their voices.

Memories of Jay's daily Cajun bashing caller does make recent sentiments rather humorous.

Can the radio talk get its own thread?

Sorry but you couldn't be more wrong. Am radio is built for talk radio and advertisers love them. With sister stations on FM radio they also do not have to worry about the FCC nightly broadcasting rules for AM stations. Also, with apps like radio pup they can continue to broadcast for cheap on AM while simulcasting all around the world (which will eventually be how everyone listens to radio.)

I'd bet that with the younger folks most of the sports & music listening comes from an internet stream. Although us old folks don't always understand or like it, that's the way entertainment is going in the future. We need to stay on the front of this technology. I think we can produce this content in house as was stated in the report and make it a asset to our sports fans and our radio & television broadcasting program.

Jack it's a problem. Everyone knows it. It's been a topic of conversation for 20 years. Not only that, it goes much deeper than you think. 1420 is in UL's hip pocket my friend.
