TIGUE UPDATE?

At the risk of being called a heretic again, I think this is getting blown way out of proportion. I have no sources and I have only met the AD once and the T-Joe once. Neither of them would know me from Adam. I just think there are some "facts" being thrown around here that are exaggerated.

For example, it my understanding that the 5 million pledged by the Russo family was to come in at 1 million a year for the next 3-5 years. If this is true, then some kind of construction financing would be required.

In addition, since Robe has stated that the 2 million dollar pledge has not been reneged upon, only that a 250K pledge is in peril, why is it that some of you have decided there is only 3 million available?

If Farmer screwed the pooch on this, he deserves to be terminated, but so far no one has produced anything that would indicate that this project is in serious danger other than a 250K pledge being in danger and that (apparently) has nothing to do with the separation issue.

I think it would be better if verifiable facts were dealt with. It would appear that this whole deal started with an incorrect rumor and then then every possible conspiracy rumor has been concocted.

I just don't know what to make of all of this. I have a feeling that I am not the only one, but opening up the window of possibility that some of this may be exaggerated will get you flogged on this forum. I expect other open minded people are hesitant to speak up because of this.

I hope Robe gets his new stadium built in a timely fashion, he deserves it. That is all I care about.

Now proceed to call me a liar and any other names that people who are skeptical about this stuff are called.

First and foremost, sorry for saying "shut up" the other day. Just frustrated with the misinformation. (not an excuse, anyway, sorry). You didn't deserve that. My bad.

Out of Farmer's mouth was the 3 million dollar figure. That is not a rumor. C4L's post that started the bigger reaction about the $2 Mil donor was rumor, a rumor that has still not been laid to rest, despite the email that was posted. The folks responsible for the origins of that rumor have no denied the claim of money being withheld. Anyway, before that post happened, you saw credible employed personnel of subs for Lemoine giving us hard data, timelines and reasons for inaction. Hardly rumors. If people are still believing there's nothing going on, even though we haven't done a thing of substance to the Tigue over a 250k pledge, you guys aren't paying attention. Farmer flat out lied to a room full of people.. (This is not the first time he's done so btw).

Look at the timeline.
Look at the explanations.
Look at the inaction.
Look at Farmer's history.
Look at the money.
Look at the silence.

No where in the plan for Tigue renovation was their any clauses for taking out a loan to fund the project. If we were so prepared for this thing, why are we having to go to the board to approve money from the "auxiliary" account. Why are donors ____ed off? Where Farmer to comment?

I've been trying my damndest.. Almost daily for 3 weeks. The boys want the story, they just can't run with it without someone going on record. If Farmer does what I think he's going to do, I may have a pretty substantial contact that WILL go on record. I'm just waiting to press 'send'.

What was done? What's the highlight of the story? That's what so many of us are trying to figure out. Was there never enough money? Was there money that is no longer there?
Also, I believe you've always said on this thread that you think the stadium will get built in time, and in the version that has been promoted. Do you still believe this?

As things have developed, I do believe it will get built. I believe we play in the entire 2017 season in Youngsville at Fabacher, which would be a crushing blow to a blossoming baseball program, fanbase, and overall "in thing" to be a part of in our community right now.

As far as the story, I don't think the media really dug into the specifics of this thing (there really wasn't a big reason to before this month) and now that they are frantically trying to get comments, no one is talking.. The longer this continues, nothing good comes from it.

Well this is new:

"The project will consist of 2 phases to be performed between the offseasons of the 2016 and 2017 baseball seasons. Phase I Includes the addition of 2 concession decks behind the existing 1st and 3rd Baseline stands which will remain as well as the installation of new stadium lighting. Phase II includes the complete demo of the existing grandstand to allow for a brand new 47,000 SF Facility which will include a new grandstand, new concessions, a club room, press box and 10 new suites. This renovation will bring the total Baseball stadium capacity to 4,570 seats".

Complete in two phases. First two concession deck to serve whatever they serve ready for the 2017 season. Then the stadium ready for the 2018 season which I hope I will be still breathing......

You see this is what causes a few of us to pause..The Lemoine document clearly states 2 phases to be completed between the offseasons of 2016 and 2017. I read that to be entirely consistent with the statements that the facility will be completed before 2017 season. Now we interpret it to say.. not ready until 2018 season..

Crawfish I feel your pain. There may yet be something to all of this but I have not heard anything credible in these 30 or so pages. If in fact something comes out that all this was correct well I'll come back and give credit where it is due. But for now, I see nothing to say its not happening. I received that same email as basinbear, the project was approved based upon guarantees from our administration that the project would be funded by donor funds. It was part of the master plan approved, provided the funds were raised.

Well, I certainly hope that the Fabacher scenario doesn't happen.....and I think that's something that we all can agree on how terrible that'd be.

And the lack of communication from UL is not only frustrating, but concerning, so we agree on that as well.

But how about my question about what is behind the story you holding back on? Can you give us a summary of what that story is?

I'm not trying to be difficult, but can our project.....or any project in the ULS for >$10 million dollars.....just be approved based on a master plan and a statement that we will pay for it via donor funds? Without having to prove that we actually have those funds on hand?
