how does this camp fit in to the agreement with lswho, I thought Les MIles allegedly banned us from having any camps with partners other than him

I stated I understand why coaches do what they do. That doesn't mean I have to support it. And because I disagree with decision doesn't mean I am condemning HUD. It's not an all or nothing thing. However regardless of who has been doing it and for how long, if it's wrong it's wrong. Lots of folks here complain about the current generation of athletes. The entitlement etc. Lot's of people here complain about the sleazy nature of recruiting. At some point, you have to decide what is ok, based on it's merit...if things will ever get better. Things are wrong or they are not....and it's not based on if everybody else is doing it. I use Robicheaux as an example. He does thing based on a code of ethics, not based on what everybody else is doing. He is also successful. The two are not mutually exclusive. We don't have to follow this trend to succeed. I don't think this in of itself is some sort of massive terrible thing. It's just another in a long trend of college sports descending deeper into the abyss. And just cause it's what our coaches see as necessary doesn't mean it's right. I'm not condemning HUD, so much as I am wishing we had more coaches like Robicheaux...not just here at UL but in America.
Well, now that we've all taken the bait... This is my last post on the matter.
See y'all tomorrow for some post season raucous!
Probably not, but he is holding advance camps for different ages and they scout 15 year olds in their areas. Do you think Coach Robichaux and his staff aren't looking at kids for the 2017 and 2018 classes? Wouldn't some of those kids 16 or 15 now? That's only one year older then this kid. Why do you think Perfect Games has scouting reports on U14 and U15? Memo Charlie, it's happening in every sport even baseball and basketball. It actually began with schools offering kids 14 and 15 with basketball. Ridiculous, sure! It's part of the system and the offer doesn't make Hudspeth a scumbag, he knows full well that kid will never sign here at UL in the future unless he doesn't live up to his athletic ability on the field.
T where did I say he was a scumbag? Please direct me to that post so I can edit it immediately.
Looking at kids and offering are not the same thing, T. Come on.
I said the practice is terrible, and I don't care who else does it and for how long. That doesn't change anything.
You didn't, but it sounds like you are insinuating it because Coach Robichaux wouldn't do it. Perhaps I'm reading wrong, but my point to you is scouting doesn't start at 16 or 17 any longer. Kids are being graded today in the age groups U14 and U15 in Football, Baseball and Basketball. If you have a Hockey team, you can add that sport as well. It's the nature of the best, but I do agree that it is ridiculous and as a parent I wouldn't allow any college coach to discuss offers with my child at that stage. Unfortunately parents are part of the problem today.
