You re-evaluate them as their high school careers are coming to a close. Its a non-binding offer, even if the kid accepts it so what? there is no risk. If they didn't develop over the years like you hoped, you don't have to take them

I thought the rule was you could not contact a recruit prior to junior year, is this scenario exempt, in that by them coming to camp they contacted the school, not a coach contacting them???

Kids are contacted all the time much sooner than their junior years.

Does it matter? How do you stop it? Or even begin to police it?

it seems pretty simple, a rule is a rule. why did they think some of our student athletes couldn't pass the ACT? they could have just been given a re-test to see if they were smart enough to be in college

And the other one? 9 years old and weighs more than his 13 year old brother. He's obviously going to be a D1 offensive lineman. I'm not sure what Hud is waiting on.

Since I know you like offering kids at such a young age

legally dude. LSU offered the RB from University High in either 8th grade or his freshman year. Have you found a rule that prohibits the coaches from offering before a kid's Junior year?

no, but I only asked how could you offer without "contacting" them. that is why I asked was camps an exception, does camp not count as contact, since player could have deemed to be initiating the contact by choosing to attend
