It is never ridiculous to be on the same recruiting platform as your competitors. Yes, if it were banned by the NCAA I would be a lot happier, but that isn't happening, so the only ridiculous thing is to to not match your competition.

Probably a good bet he will be a player. If he isn't nobody feelings are going to be hurt. I can assure you with these offers comes a cautionary comment such as ' if you keep on working hard'.
Like I said Charlie, it is ridiculous. But as I also stated it applies across the board in every major men's college sport, Football, Baseball and Basketball. Until the NCAA steps in, it will continue and as long as it's legal Hudspeth will do it because his competitors do it.
The concept of offering a 14 year old kid is ludicrous and I think most of us would agree. However, that aside, what is the risk of doing it in this college landscape to UL? We all agree that its going to occur, one way or the other, so why not get our foot in the door early ahead of some of these other big schools?
Or other G5 programs. I want to be ahead of the Lamers, Cougars, Memphis Tigers, stAte. It is a bit presumptuous to think our comepetion for some of these players will only be outstanding P5 programs.
I think the recruiting process is stressful enough when kids are only dealing with it for 2 years. To push that down to 14 year olds is irresponsible. And adults shouldn't need NCAA rules to tell them that. Yes I know that's wishful thinking. Tell me this though, would Tony Robichaux think this was a good idea?
It is now becoming routine for schools to offer scholarships to kids just starting to eat solid food and those same kids to commit before they even know what that means.
At the end of the day, until signing day arrives, an offer is still on the table and a kid signs on the dotted line, I don't think anyone can be sure that a damn thing will take place!
If this is the case, why stop at 14?
I heard Saban just offered this cat. Scouts say he's going to be off the charts!
