I do find it disturbing that Bustle offered a scholarship to someone he had not ever seen.
Or is that a little dramatic license by the writer?

you guys are making the right points. would he have chosen us over state anyway? doubt it. and, we likely were already set at that position and may have needed the scholarship for another player.
and, didn't the article say that bustle pulled the scholarship when he found out about his size? does anyone think that bustle wouldn't have known everything about his size before offering him? i'm sure that even if someone told bustle that he had 4.3 speed, he would have still gotten some film to watch his to start recruiting him. that statement in the article just doesn't make any sense. But if holliday needs to have some sort of resentment towards us to get his rox off, then whatever. its not like he's gonna be the every down back for us either. fenroy would have still been our guy
I think this is a lot to do about nothing. At its core I assume this is to question Bustle's recruiting judgement. This "article" is evidence of nothing. With the extremely speculative world of recruiting and dare I say "commitments" these days... it is danged if you, danged if you don't... and just how much is still left to interpretation?
I can tolerate a lot of jibber jabber about play calling and such, but making allegations, without all of the facts, on "recruiting" is like saying "you should hold the dice between your palm, ring and index finger to truly CONTROL the roll of the dice".
And, I am not sure about the rest of you, but everything I hear and read is not the absolute entirety of the subject. In fact, besides having to distinguish fact from fiction, 19 facts can yield one outcome... then a 20th arrives and completely trumps the outcome. It sucks for "us" prognosticating fans, but it's the truth (until a 20th fact arrives and trumps it!)
I do not think he was coming to UL (and Bustle knew it), scholarship withdrawn or not. But, I will say this... had he chose to come here... no BCS fan would give him a second thought as an undersized nobody with speed at lowly UL. But, at a BCS school... he's a phenomena. Trust me... happens all the time. That is the only "human interest story" that comes out of this... for me.
Regardless, I do love to watch him play.
