Playing running back at Long Beach simply flows through the veins of Bradley Jacobs.
Five years ago Jacobs saw his brother Brandon Jacobs enjoy an All-Coast senior season at Long Beach.
Now it's the younger Jacobs' turn to shine for the Bearcats as big brother proudly watches from the stands.
Jacobs is off to a fast start, emerging as the Coast's second-leading rusher through five games. He has 780 yards rushing, including a remarkable stretch of 500 in two of the last three games. He ran for 329 yards against Poplarville.
"My goal was not to become the Coast's rushing leader as a senior," Jacobs said. "I just want to help lead my team to victories and into the playoffs."
Jacobs is not intimidated by the huge shadow cast by his older brother, who later played at Ole Miss during the 2000s.
"Since Day 1, Brandon's been there for me," Jacobs said. "He taught me how to play football. It's a big advantage for me. Brandon passes all of the stuff he's learned to me."
Brandon never flaunted his resumé and accomplishments to Bradley, because it was unnecessary.
