    Sounds like Washington...
---What I was told is coming---Clear break in all sports between Private and public---Complete total recruiting of all kids and at earlier years with feeder schools (sometimes the same school campus)

the better Black athletes leaving the public schools as their programs go down with less money for their athletics programs

I am thinking of the scheduling and how that would work---Who would be in the district say with Gueydan??? Or say a St Louis HS in LC who would be in the district?? It is a mess and wondering what the final outcome will be

can Houston Cajun maybe tell us about the Texas situation!!!

This would be the biggest obstacle for an all out split, especially in North Louisiana where there aren't as many private schools as in the Lafayette and NOLA areas. It would be very tough to fill out that schedule.

In Texas most of the private schools are in the urban areas but even they also have to schedule public schools for non-district games so scheduling between them is not a problem. They have more than enough public and enough private so that the split- playoff system works, Louisiana just simply does not have enough schools. Louisiana will never be able to completely split.

Actually, the Public school principals are products of the government and have been conditioned by our socialist education system to make everyone equal. For the most part, that's their mentality. As a country, we are going down a road of less accountability where somebody else always to blame. We now see the government trying to expand employment laws to accommodate mediocrity ( See $15 minimum wage).

I wish someone would publish a list of the schools that voted on this issue and how they voted.

A total split will kill public school system athletics.

The solution is to go back to a complete union. Then, either leave it like that or follow the Alabama model like Stevie P was touting. The private enrollment is multiplied x 1.5

Or.....public schools can just improve their education so that there is no advantage to going to a private school.

How come Monroe doesn't pull more of their players? It would seem like a no brainier unless they can't make the grades.

That still doesn't solve the problem.

Promotion/Relegation maintains a level field for all concerned based on performance instead of enrollment numbers. It also provides incentives other than just the playoffs. A team performing towards the bottom of their division is still motivated to play towards the end of the season so they aren't relegated down a division.

This is, without question, the most fair and feasible option. There is no reason why it couldn't work here.. Other than small minded people that are making the decisions.

Money and incompetence ruin everything. Sports are not immune and we are now seeing it on every level, pop Warner to Pros.

Need more info on the promotion/regulation proposal. How would that work with high school districts?

Also, professional teams can keep most of their players every year. High schools are forced to lose 25% of their players every year, and they are usually their best ones.
