Maybe they saw a lack of testicular fortitude. I don't think Haack has "IT" as in swagger or mojo to take the reins and be a leader. He's a good athlete and obviously positive influence, hence the C on his shoulder, but I haven't seen him rise up when shet hits the fan and we need a go to guy.

glad we got the win and hope it gets us rolling. But next time it's 4th and inches and we have one of the better backs in the country against the 2nd to worst defense in the country... Give him the ball instead of some some stupid, truck hurry up and run under center whatever the hell that was. Or let the freshmen kick the FG from 35 yards on 4th and 3 instead fro 900 yards a minute later... Those calls will cost us a game against at not the worst defense in the country. Other than that really happy for the players to put together a good win.

I'm fine with going with Nixon, we very well may need haack to win us a game this year... Not saying you are but I see no need to crap on the kid. It takes having the "IT" factor to handle the situation the way he is by being a great teammate.

For those of you who were critical of the Cajuns' defense.

After TxSt went up 14-7, Texas State got exactly 13 yards in their next 26 plays. During that time the Cajuns had over 300 yards in offense.

With all respect, if you are still yakking about QB, you missed the real story in this game.

Texas State isn't good defensively. But they are a solid offensive team.
And while our offense was taking control, our defense embarrassed them.

Yea they had a good 2nd half but don't act like everyone is dumb for still being concerned about the Defense.. They have played 2 good halves against FBS opponents this season , both in the 2nd half, we're still struggling to pressure the QB and we are still missing too many tackles.

We will need 60 mins of that good D to beat stAte

Question here: why just a five yard penalty here? The ball was kicked out of bounds. On a kick off the ball comes to the 35 when it goes out of bounds. Lets say that the kicking team had an unsportsman penalty and had to kick from their own 20s after a TD, and it went out of bound, where would the ball be placed for the receiving team? Would it not be on their 35 yard line?...so just because the kicking team feels like kicking the ball 15 yards and it goes out of bound it just a 5 yard penalty........

It's a win. Nothing wrong with a win. But the first half did happen. Thankfully, unlike the Akron game, we tied it up before half and gave this team momentum.

Thanks for the clarity Doc. The tackling is still horrendous everywhere on the field. Tx St did not show up on offense, plain and simple. I'm happy for the guys, and always enjoy a win, but let's keep things in perspective here.

1) Our QB battle is "settled" by playing the worst defensive team in the country?????, and
2) Our defense looked better, but still benefitted from numerous drops by WR's running free downfield.

Stay tuned is all I'm saying here. We sucked against the MAC, we sucked against Tech, and we beat a bottom feeder Belt team. We will have a better gauge after Arky St.
