The point is that if there were 21k there Saturday night DONT TELL ME there was only 26k in previous games... 21k last Saturday = 31k in previous weeks....

I would caution against assuming Haack lacks the qualities to which you refer. Even If he does lack those qualities, and you - or anyone else on this board KNOWS this based on first hand observations - I caution against it.
Again: 21 year old kids playing in exchange for scholarships, not million dollar contracts.
Lets give them a bit of a break -- they read these boards..........

that is just my opinion from watching him play. no inside info or anything. and i want a qb who wont be rattled by what arm chair qbs say on a message board, so that kind of goes with my point as well.

This is paid attendance. Yes you could see that huge a difference in actual warm blooded bodies vs the count.

Really? From your past posts, you claim the fans always blame the president and the AD. You need to make up your mind. You're one of "the fans". Who do you credit and who do you blame? Be careful... I think you snagged yourself in a web of your own making... again.

You might want to go back and read all of the QB bickering from the past decade. There's another layer of fans that always blame the QB. There's even some extremely stupid fans that blame other fans. So... no... every fan doesn't blame the same.

There is no "template" for accessing blame but I think you would agree that coaches and QB get too much credit/blame. In our case we are weak at the QB position so that guy is going to get some heat. I am a bit surprised how much Hud has been criticized here. He has had good offenses the entire time he has been here. That leads me to believe his personnel is subpar. I know your retort will be we pay him 1MM to figure that out. My bet is that he will even though we have very few difference makers.
Defense is a little trickier because it looks like Hud does not know what he wants to do, but again we have even few difference makers in that side of the ball.
At the end of the day these are his players, but it is clear that poor recruiting may be be a bigger negative than the game day coaching.

There is another factor at play here and that is injuries. We have been lucky prior to this season with injuries and we have been hit hard with that this season. We lost three WR's to injury in summer workouts and the defense has played virtually the entire year without Washington or Worthy. Add to that the recent OL injury and our luck of the past four years has been completely eradicated. If you want to argue that the lack of depth is a recruiting issue, I will accept that view. Also, not having Simeon Thomas is a factor in the type of defense the new staff wants to play. Note that that is also an issue. It appears some progress is being made in adapting to the new system. I was encouraged by what I saw from that unit in the second half at Tech and in the second and third quarters of the Texas State game. The Bobcats do struggle on defense as well but their offense had success in every other game they have played.

First, I'm not one of the people that says "we pay him $1MM...". Rebel was just trying to dismiss my post as "another post where coaches get blamed, players get the credit". I see people blaming players routinely. I'm one of them. And as far as QBs go... they get way too much blame... and way too much credit. I've read people on here write excessive ignorant credit/blame with QBs. If they don't complete passes, they blame them... even when they threw excellent passes that were dropped. They blame them for not throwing well, when the play sucked, the OL didn't block. That is Football Stupid 101. And it gets written on here after every single game.

I watch the play calling and execution, not just to see if it succeeds. I look for individuals doing their assignments, and how everyone is coached to work the play correctly. I watch to see if the play makes sense for who we're playing, how they're playing, etc. And I've seen a lot of coaching issues that have nothing to do with the athletes.

Personally, I think we have plenty of playmakers. It's just that this is the first year under Hud that I saw a significant divergence from the types of skills we've had in the past four years. Is that, in my opinion, a "down year". No... I saw it coming as a year of a talent that needed to be utilized by a shift in scheme. We do not have Zo, Harry Peoples, Ladarius Green... but we have Eli, Jamal, Fuselier, Scott... plenty of talent and speed... plenty of skill... the coaches have not used them well.

Do I blame Jamal or the coaches for not getting him ready both physically and mentally for the start of the season? Do I blame the coaches or Eli for being run between the tackles too much? Do I blame the coaches or Haack for our coaches and fans for being too stupid to know who's really to blame for not setting this offense up correctly to start the year?

And without question... when we went 8-4 and won the first bowl... I heard more praise for Hud than I've ever heard for any coach at UL... ever. He managed to do that with Bustle's players. So, when it comes to arguing about "we just don't have the talent"? We don't have the talent in year 5 of the coach that has 4 consecutive bowls under his belt... and the recruiting that goes along with that, the APC, and everything else? Who's to blame if there is a talent void?

Rebel tried to dismiss my post with his bullnose post. That's all you read as a comeback from me. But if I have to, I'll write a lot more and put this puppy exactly where the truth is... as I stated it in the prior post.
