Great point Jay - try to find a similar FBS member that wins at football, AND in basketball, AND has the same budget restrictions, AND state budgetary cuts, that exist.

    I think NONE.

That sounds like self imposed restrictions. What is the state supposed to do? Give us $40 million for athletics?

Who is responsible for pushing the Louisiana brand? Who is responsible for growing RCAF? Completing the Master Plan?

Answer those questions for me and tell me who is responsible for all of those things. The university has no spine and they are not willing to shake any tree for reprisals that won't happen.

We should just drop basketball then, if we can't ever expect to have a consistent winner then what are we doing wasting the money? Drop the program and dump all the money into football. You can't have both so screw it.

Softball & baseball like no other G5 schools cover a large share of the burden on their own. Again feed the oxen get more production from them.

    Straw men folks

We won 20+ games and made tournament last year. IMo we should at least let this year play out before we dump it.

I agree with you on those points - but I don't see that changing unfortunately.

I think we need an aggressively, independently run RCAF, as well as better conference affiliation to gap our shortcomings.

No, didn't you read above? We cannot be successful in basketball and football, it just isn't allowed to happen, why waste our time?

We already know we are no better than third in the strong Southland conference. No doubt we will be very competitive in the week SBC. But what does that mean in 300 plus schools to finish 199.

I believe ourRPI was around 315 prior to the UALR game. That my friend is unacceptable.
