I think marlin has proved if they don't, he will make the right call.

  2. Default Casper College's Wright, Nunn sign with Division I programs

Jay Wright and Kendyl Nunn became the latest Casper College basketball players to commit to Division I programs on Wednesday.

Wright, a freshman guard who led the Thunderbirds with 16.2 points and 4.4 assists per game this past season, has verbally committed to the University of Louisiana. Casper College coach Dan Russell said in a release that he expects Wright to sign with the Ragin' Cajuns next week.

Yea, most here get it, potential is just that until you do something with it.
Yeah, you took what I said and completely transformed it into direct logic. Whatever. The two points I'm making is that A) So many kids come in decorated for what they did in High School and so many don't live up to the hype. So before we go saying that Marlin has turned the corner in his recruiting success, lets see how it plays out on the court B) Many of the guys who are coming in to give us immediate help are transfers or JUCOs which will have short stays here. I want to see some prolonged success and balance within the program before all doubt is removed...

    Did you understand that?

    Next Year Potential Possible Lineup:

    PG-Shepherd/Wright
    G-Rimmer/Brown/Register
    SG-Brian Williams/Wronk/Stove
PF-Walker/Kande (or Plaisance if weight gets put on)
    PF-Long/JJ
I think next year we will employ a 3 guard lineup. Probably Shepherd, Rimmer and Brown to start with Williams and Long

That coach rumored to be a cancer causer is still employed by others right? I guess his lack of loyalty was not a drawback.
-----I think that his lack of loyalty was a huge factor as he couldn't get a job and then goes from UL to Stetson -----make no doubt about it that he brought baggage along to the gig that obviously Marlin didn't know about ---Your comment on his loyalty is way off base as Marlin who is extremely well respected will give a reference of his not even being allowed on the recruiting trail for the Cajuns---Not many would take him I assure you!!

The transfers/Juco thing doesn't really bother me. As we all know, Coach Evans had plenty of solid transfers. IMO, if they are good and can contribute, get them on campus.

Yes, it does appear that this is a solid class but as you also mentioned, these kids have to come in here and improve and show that they belong. Also, the only knock is that several are JUCO or transfers for which we will have for a short period of time. Hopefully we were able to get a few kids that could help be a cornerstone for a nucleus of a solid team for several years to come.
Getting a JUCO point guard with three years of eligibility remaining is a huge plus. Bringing in quality transfers should allow us to bring the freshman along slowly. I think the two staff additions brought in last year were critical to success on the court and on the recruiting trail. Those two guys (Gus Hauser and Mike Murphy) definitely want to be here.

That is a 3-guard lineup that I put. What you have is a 4-guard lineup, which I highly doubt we do.

I remember in Errol Rogers first year he had 5 scholarships to give and signed all freshmen.

Not wise, at the time I lamented that his method would force top heavy and bottom heavy recruiting in recurring fashion.

2 or 3 freshman mixed with 2 or 3 transfers would have been the right move to attain future recruiting balance.

    Rogers never recovered.

3 freshman and three transfers is balance. I presume Turbine approves of the strategy.
