I too think it will be a guard heavy lineup and I see Stove making contributions next year. When it comes to Plaisance and Washington could we possibly see a redshirt on one of these guys? Seems like Long, Davenport, Walker and hopefully Kande would take up most of the minutes playing down low.

    MelRock,

Wouldn't it be great if UL Basketball could get back to a point where the youngsters of today could get a similar feel for what us older geezers used to experience back in the days of Coach Shipley! It never hurts to dream big!!!!!!

I'd settle for the Paschal years.

I agree Shipley or Paschal would be nice. I think we are about to be on a pretty good ride here and I hope more people jump on board, young and old.

Not wise, at the time I lamented that his method would force top heavy and bottom heavy recruiting in recurring fashion.

2 or 3 freshman mixed with 2 or 3 transfers would have been the right move to attain future recruiting balance.

    Rogers never recovered.
Rogers would not have recovered if his first class were all WNBA lottery picks. The man was a HORRIBLE coach. He never beat a quality program as a head coach at any level from middle school to D1.

I would be very happy with getting back to the good Fletcher or Evans years. This past season was pretty good, but IMO still not up to par with where we were in the early 90's or early '00.

Unless Marlin decides to start Walker, I don't think there will be any other guys he will think about starting. Williams easily has the most experience of any of the guys and will be one of the best players on the court. I guess we could start him at the 3 and Walker at the 4 which is a certain possibility. However, Marlin has loved going smaller the last couple of years and he may actually be bigger than Moore was so he could play the 4 for us and give us another shooter on the outside that Moore was not.

Nothing about Kande's play this past season would tell me that he will automatically get minutes over a Plaisance or Washington unless he settles in and gets better. In basketball, you don't tend to see players redshirt at all unless an injury is involved as kids do not come in to a program to automatically sit out a year. I truly don't see that happening but I guess theres always a first time for anything.

Didn't say it necessarily bothered me as much as I don't know how it contributes to long term success. Its kind of like putting a bandaid on an injury. The PG is a nice pickup as he gives us several years. I think all will contribute and I hope the chemistry is there with this time like last year. I just hate to see some come and go in a year.

I think we play 10 deep next year. I think you'll see even more rotation of players than we did last year.
