Thread: LA vs WKU

I want Marlin to stay. I'm not even THINKING of a change.

With that said, how did we let a team of comparable abilities go on a 32-7 run...on OUR court?

Agreed. I think in theory, this roster could win, in the SBC. I understand the pieces and why they're put in the places they are. Sometimes, results just don't come. And with a coach coming off of a second do over, lack of results is not going to sit well.

    But I get it.

    Announcers name Runner?
EP is a great player...and should, with additional development, end up in the NBA.

In the meantime, could someone tell him that his game has gotten too predictable? He drives...then slashes to the right of the basket for a layup attempt. They know it. They wait for it. Maybe...every now and then...he could take a 5 foot jump shot. Someone show him tapes of Andrew Toney.

If you think Elfrid has a chance of being mentioned in the same breath as Andrew Tony, I'm afraid you're terribly mistaken.

You're making my case for me. If you and I can figure these things out about Payton, what do you think scouts see Red?

I had to work so I ended up giving my tickets to a friend. I was able to watch from time to time and the attendance looked great on TV and the crowd sounded VERY loud!

Nice work, guys!....Too bad we dropped the ball on the court.

So do I. I wonder how many steals he generates per minute played. He was integral with the full court pressure defense. He is a good free throw shooter.

Rewatching the game. At the 6:24 mark of the first half, the ESPN announcer said, "I feel a run coming on for Western Kentucky.". Maybe he's the real stinkin' genius. I think the run was 20-2.

We must be able to recruit some legitimate big men with muscle in order to get back to being on the top of the conference. I say that not because I am an expert but because I have seen just about every home game in the last 38 years. We cannot compete consistently with just athletic guards & small forwards. We need some bigs with an attitude to be able to mix in up inside. That is something that we have been lacking for a long time. I think we have good athletes but until we can recruit big guys we will continue to be stuck in the middle of the conference standings. With that said even with the guys we have now, we still could only have a few losses if we shoot free throws better. We do not have players who are finishers. That was very evident today. Look at how many layups with fouls called that we failed to make the basket and the free throw. Instead we only make the free throw. We had no answer to WKU's big men inside.
