Thread: LA vs WKU

I have seen him play in another TV game, and I will say this was not his best game. I think the Hill Topper defense had something to do with that though. He had a hard time when he tried to drive on them. I think he tried too hard at times to make something happen and forced some shots he should have made. For a point guard, his free throw shooting is a weakness and he gets fowled a lot trying to drive to the basket.

Like I said a few weeks back, 2 NBA players, regardless of scheme would bulldoze this conference. I don't care what the numbers say after the fact. What we have is two GOOD college players (nothing more, nothing less) and several mediocre Sun Belt players. It's that simple.

This game is microcosm of this years team, and Marlin coached teams, if history tells us anything.
While I agree that two NBA players would handle this conference, what I think people of missing is these two young men are merely NBA prospects. They have a lot of developing to do to ensure they are locks to get drafted.

I didn't see Chad Washington's tweet until after my reply.

For the record, the @CajunsRagin Twitter acct is the Ragin' Pagin acct.

I am so tired of hearing about what Lee did to the program, get over it, this is Marlin's program. If he could recruit, we would have success. It is about recruiting, period, bottom line. Marlin has had time. It is over and it is not going to happen. Payton did great this summer, why is he now not performing to the same level. Who was his coach then and who is his coach now. Bottom line, it is all about coaching..........
Please stop making freaking excuses, it is time we make a CHANGE

I hope this team makes a good run going into the conference tournament. Outside of that, I'm waiting to see the help some of our more informed basketball posters say we'll see next year. I just do not have this overall negative assessment of Marlin yet.

It's not hard to figure out how to stifle the Cajun offense. Stop or foul Payton. Force them to beat you from the perimeter. That's why we see long segments of games with poor offensive production.

I want Marlin to stay. I'm not even THINKING of a change.

With that said, how did we let a team of comparable abilities go on a 32-7 run...on OUR court?

Agreed. I think in theory, this roster could win, in the SBC. I understand the pieces and why they're put in the places they are. Sometimes, results just don't come. And with a coach coming off of a second do over, lack of results is not going to sit well.

    But I get it.

EP is a great player...and should, with additional development, end up in the NBA.

In the meantime, could someone tell him that his game has gotten too predictable? He drives...then slashes to the right of the basket for a layup attempt. They know it. They wait for it. Maybe...every now and then...he could take a 5 foot jump shot. Someone show him tapes of Andrew Toney.

If you think Elfrid has a chance of being mentioned in the same breath as Andrew Tony, I'm afraid you're terribly mistaken.
