Reposted 5000 attendance.....did it same that much?
Rewatching the game. At the 6:24 mark of the first half, the ESPN announcer said, "I feel a run coming on for Western Kentucky.". Maybe he's the real stinkin' genius. I think the run was 20-2.
We must be able to recruit some legitimate big men with muscle in order to get back to being on the top of the conference. I say that not because I am an expert but because I have seen just about every home game in the last 38 years. We cannot compete consistently with just athletic guards & small forwards. We need some bigs with an attitude to be able to mix in up inside. That is something that we have been lacking for a long time. I think we have good athletes but until we can recruit big guys we will continue to be stuck in the middle of the conference standings. With that said even with the guys we have now, we still could only have a few losses if we shoot free throws better. We do not have players who are finishers. That was very evident today. Look at how many layups with fouls called that we failed to make the basket and the free throw. Instead we only make the free throw. We had no answer to WKU's big men inside.

Different type of play. Teamwork and a great player complimented each other back in Toney's day.
The best and worst thing to happen to basketball occurred since Toney played.
Michael Jordan.
Now you see more and more clear outs for 1v1. And is why you get free chicken now where decades back, that was a bad night AND no 3 pointers or shot clock.
Took 100 points for free fries...lol.
Agreed, I like our kids, but we need to fly in Elvin ivory and southhall to give long a talk in intimidation 101 if he is going to have to be our 5 man. Instead of finessing it he needs to dunk that ____ home and let the men bigger than him know its his house.
It is amazing how some people blame Marlin's shortcomings on the Robert Lee era. I like Bob Marlin, with that said I'm starting to think he may not be the right fit. I can be a big boy and admit, I haven't been a supporter of the program like I was during the Fletcher and Jessie Evans era. But I attended today's game, and it was the second one I attended this season. Let's just say I'm not impressed. This team lacks quality inside guys and shooters, on top of all that their defensive effort in the last two minutes was pitiful. People can bash the Jessie Evans all they want, but those guys came to play every night and a nationally televised game always brought about a great effort. I like Bob, but let's stop making excuses. This team lacks D1 depth and it shows when they play the better teams on the schedule. I long for Saturday nights in the dome, we experienced 10-12 years ago, with 8,000 to 9,000 fans so energetic about basketball. Bash Marty, Jessie, and Robert all you want, but all three of those guys brought us to the dance. At the rate we are going now, a conference championship game is far-fetched.
Wow Red. Didn't know or didn't want to know it was that bad of a run by wku.
Exactly what I was asking earlier. He has no mid or three point range. He only drives. And with no real consistent shooter to dish to, it makes him really predictable. From what I have read about him, many NBA teams have him on their radar because he showed how he would play with comparable talent around him at U-19 Worlds. He really needs to get better at shooting from anywhere outside the paint, including free throws. Sky is the limit for this young man, all he needs to do is keep working on his game.
