Honestly, if you go by what the rest of the guide says, we should now be referred to as "UL-Lafayette Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns"
I'm just hoping the terminology Buckley is using is wrong.
My favorite will be when they use: UL-L @ Lafayette.
4 different references....a million ways to screw it up.
KEVIN FOOTE GETS !!!! He just went over thie issue on "Foote's Filter," as came out and SAID that the university doesn't understand how to get this done!! He said they needed to be PROACTIVE in getting out what we are to be called and not coming out AFTER-THE-FACT, or HIDING and not being available for comment. He also understands the damage with the NATIONAL MEDIA from the edict! i realize it's not much, but just to hear SOMEONE with a "bully pulpit" say what we all think. THANKS FOOTE!!

Jay, where's your BLOG? Everyone's keeping quite, I'm sure you had an inkling that this was coming...? Ready to read when it's ready.
Any explanation, IMO, is like putting a Band-Aid on a missing limb or maybe covering up a dog turd with grass....
Well good thing we have a very proactive, engaged, and involved marketing department to help clear up this mess and show the nation that we really do have an identity and brand. We would look like fools if we had to go at this alone... : )
I agree. In my opinion ULL is the worst possible choice. They did it for Academic reasons however and did not care how it would effect us in sports. We can't change the past but I surely hope something is done going forward. I am sure most of you can agree with me when I say that our name issue is THE number one priority and issue we need to face today. Other schools don't get it but we are passionate about it for a reason.
We need some of the big backers to go into Farmer's office and give him an earfull, I gurantee they will listen. Money talks.
