To your point, it is far too late to touch that issue. Good lawyers in 1984 would have pounced on that conflict of interest and made it front and center.

Fact is this was an un-loseable case, that was lost.
I'm a lawyer and I litigate a lot, him graduating from LSU is not grounds for recusal. He may have graduated 20 or more years before he became a judge. Turbine, I think that the wheels are coming off the train here, you guys are losing touch with reality.

most were very nice, some were unbelievably arrogant. The black reps from New Orleans thought that they were royalty.

Ah, perhaps we can agree on a thing or do. Because there are a few reps from New Orleans right now that I dislike.

YOU have no idea how many hours I've put in fighting for this name. I can almost guarantee you I've fought much, much harder than you have. In the past I've told people not to send angry emails to people because it's ultimately counterproductive to the cause. That's the only "capitulation" I've offered on the name issue.

There's a difference between fighting and having an opinion. My opinion is that the status quo, where basically everyone in the country calls us ULL, isn't good enough. My opinion is if we keep doing the exact same BS name workarounds we've been trying and failing at for the past 14 years, which is what you want us to do, the outcome will be exactly the same as it always has.

    Like Lafayette High School?

That is the real issue. You have laughed at us, looked down your nose and insulted us for years. You have scoffed at anything Cajun until it was cool to do so. All we want is to be left alone and be allowed to be a good as we can be. Unfortunately, that scares the daylights out of you and the other schools in this state. You are happy with the way things used to be and we are trying to upset your world. We are William Wallace, George Washington, Rosa Parks and countless others. We are trying to change ideas and attitudes. The status quo never liked that.

And what do you call you and your beloved "flagship" being too chicken____ to let us have a simple name?! Your hypocrisy, sir, is astounding. But, please, by all means continue to "not care".

Maybe the rest of the universities in the system pressured the conference and the board to rein in UL's use of "Louisiana"? ever think that maybe more people don't want ya'll to have that name than do?
You La. Aggies still have no clue about what athletic branding is, huh sod-buster!

Tech, UL, and UNO are designated as statewide universitites. (Odd that we cannot market ourselves on a statewide basis)

Every other 4 years public university has a regional designation.
    I do. They're not MY flagship. :-)

    Abbreviation: LA

    Done deal
But that's against the law right?
