There is no timing problem here...the speech was made and Bowl Order forms were sent out when the agreement had already been made. You can try to refute it all you want it's there in black and white.

Yes, we were all told that we were talking to numerous bowls. Haven't we talked to numerous bowls....? We all received the pamphlet with our potential bowl destinations. We talked, nothing came out concrete, we took the OFFER. Who else offered? SunBelt will have 6 teams bowl eligible, maybe even 7. The numbers game is not something that you want to play even if you're champs/co-champs. You start snubbing bowls publically you become LaTech. Certainty is the best option. I can assure that we were cordial and polite, listened to I-Bowls interests, nothing seemed certain and we respectfully decline thanking them but stating that we're accepting a for sure Bowl. What am I missing? Did someone bug Farmer's office when he burped his Judice Inn burger on the phone and hung up after laughing at the I-Bowl?

I just don't like being lied to. This was a pretty major decision. And then went about in a very unconventional manner. To not question their thought process and blindly accept that they knew what they were doing is not in my repertoire. I cannot do it. Not at work...not at home...not anywhere.

Actually multiple bowl selections on the forms are smart, helps them gauge how our attendance would fair in those places. We grouped forms together for 42 tickets for Nola, would have been 18 in mobile and 22 in Shreveport.

Everyone asked when we got to 6 wins "when are we getting the public NOLA bowl invite?" say that we agreed to a deal with NOLA early on, and in GOOD BUSINESS told IBOWL "hey, listen, just letting you know we already have a deal with NOLA. we just havent gone public yet, don't waste your time and resources on trying to get us there, we are locked up else where."

and i don't want to hear, "well, we should have held out to see what was out there", because at 6 wins everyone wanted that NOLA bowl invite right away.

I was told we had no other options...oh this thread has been delicious vindication. For the record though, I was not one wanting to accept at 6 wins. You're crazy if you don't think that the New Orleans bowl would wait for us, 30,000+ people in the stands tells me they would do anything possible to hold out for us until they would be forced to take us. With that said, I'm going back to my popcorn.
