I'm down with making campus more bike friendly. However, cyclists are not as innocent as they claim. I RARELY observed cyclists obeying traffic laws. I spent plenty of time on campus as a student then again as an employee, altogether nearly 10 years. I once witnessed a kid get smoked at St. Mary and Girard...kid tried to cross the street (ran the light) and was laid out. Guess what? The cyclist got the ticket.
I'm not completely blaming the bikers here because it's not their fault the roads in this town are largely not bike friendly. What I am saying is that the bikers need to be taught proper bike etiquette. This could/should be done in orientation and/or in UNIV 100.
