Boomer, Carter was tried at the slot position early on but had problems catching the ball in stride. And of course some guy named Peoples just didn't drop many footballs. He was moved back to RB to give them a change of pace back and he has gotten stronger and a little bigger. His burst has returned. He will get similar packages and play special teams if he remains healthy.

He won the job last season before his injury, I'm not ready to give up on him as a runningback. Carter is going to break some big runs this season for us.

I sure hope McGuire is getting the ball at least 10 times a game by seasons end. Why? You may ask.... Name one player we've had here (barring QBs) that wa amazing and didn't play as a true frosh.

I see what you are saying, but I don't think you can compare to years past. UL has more depth and talent than ever before, so my thought is, unless McGuire is without a doubt the best back we have, then we should redshirt him and enjoy the extra year and let him learn this year.
Now, I say that, but I have always believed that RB is a position that a guy can come in and play the quickest. To me, RB is more natural talent, quickness, vision, toughness, than any other position. If McGuire is super-talented, and he can handle the offense, then the team needs him and there is nothing like having that break-away threat on an offense. So, with all that mumbo jumbo, I'm good with whatever Hud decides.

Look what the Dixon kid did last year for LTUR---We still have a couple of weeks to see what shakes out---They didn't use my lefty/Righty quarterback plan last year---maybe they will use the BIG/LITTLE back plan this year!!!! Harris with Carter, Pierce, Reed, or McGeaux!!!!

It seems McGuire may have earned the second spot in the rotation

    Tim Buckley @TDARaginCajuns
UL coach Mark Hudspeth: Starter Alonzo Harris and true freshman Elijah McGuire will be two among probably four RBs who'll play at Arkansas.

We got a steal. Without playing a down yet, this kid may end up being the best to wear the jersey by the end of 2016/2017!
Something else, none of these guys pass up for grades, they always figure they can talk a kid into accepting a grey shirt if it does not work out, plus they always over sign. More we did not really want him talk from the EllisWho backers.

What a good problem to have. How will we ever handle all this talent? #1 city in the country bringing in the beef.

Me too! You know he must be doing some extremely impressive things in practice to have earned possibly the backup role to Alonzo over 2 or 3 guys that have been here before him who are also very talented.

This Arkansas game can't get here soon enough!!!!
