Thread: UL RB Carter out for season after knee injury

  1. Default Re: Montrel Carter injury?

    This is a lick

Montrel was off to a good start averaging 4.5 yards per carry and his long was only double that so the average is not padded by some long run.

God, to say I'd be bummed if he were out for the season would be an understatement.
True, but IMO most guys just aren't the same after an injury to the knee like that. This sucks for Montrel!

Well,.......here goes. I just know this one's gonna go over like a turd in the punch bowl at the ex-girlfriend's wedding, but what the hay? I'm not a medical doctor, but having stayed at the Holiday Inn before, just exactly how does anyone figure that much diagnosing without an X-ray or MRI? I'd hazard to to guess one might guess & manipulate to find one, maybe two, but all three without X-rays or MRI? Furthermore, how does anyone get an operating room date on a weekend without dying?

Having a bit of a medical background, I can tell you that a doc could hazard a pretty good guess just by manipulating the knee. As for the OR sched, trust me, cases are sched all the time.

So do you or anyone else have a confirmation of this exam? Like let's say a news release? Or did the old medicine man just make a fire & send up smoke signals? Sorry guys, but the last I read was that Coach Mark Hudspeth said & I quote,"Montrel Carter will have an MRI taken on his knee Monday to determine the extent of the damage to his knee." Unquote. What did I miss that everyone is running around the block about?

I hate to see the kid go down, but I think if Reed and Harris stay healthy, then we will be fine at running back. I thought Reed was the most impressive back last night. He hit the hole hard and the defender even harder.

No, I don't know any more than you. Just letting you know that a doc manipulating a knee can tell pretty easily if there's a tear or not. Hope it's not true myself.

We are not talking about "possibly" predetermining a tear. We are talking about determining a 3 tier multiple grade operable tear & a scheduled surgery date without so much as an MRI or X-ray. Medicine is coming a long way indeed. Then I would guess that Montrel left the game on a stretcher with his leg in an air cast then?
