UL RB Carter out for season after knee injury

Now that wasn't called for Chucky. I am glad to see that so many are so well versed in leg injuries. I always thought with my limited experience that such tears required immobilization, icing until the swelling began to subsde, & an MRI to confirm such a range & extent of torn tissue. This plus an X-rays to see if the synovial fluid sack was punctured & any damage done to the bones. That was What doctor Schutte told me once upon a time. But what the hell does he know. He's just the team's orthopedist & one of the finest surgeons in the south last time I checked.

UL coach Mark Hudspeth said today that starting running back Montrel Carter is out for the year because of the left knee injury he sustained in last Saturday night’s season-opening win over Lamar is season-ending.

“He’s done for the year,” Hudspeth said.

Do you think our backfield will be ok without Carter?

I'd hate like hell to see him not there, but yes, they'll be fine. I don't know who all was paying attention, but we did score another TD that was taken away by penalty. That would have given Harris close to 100 yards. We also have Torrey Pierce & Walker in the wings.

I heard he is done for the year. Torn ACL, LCL, and part of the meniscus. Surgery is Wednesday!
