Oh I am not justify bandwagon... just sayin our general masses don't goto basketball physically but in spirit. I just got season tickets last year and was amazed at our lack of attendance early. There were games where it was easy to say.. you know i don't want to haul my young children to the dome... or man I have to miss a football game... or man... i don't feel like making the drive... thats the thing about excuses... they are easy to justify to yourself. Especially parents.... my kids too young.. .too active.. yadda yadda yadda.

Ultimately no matter what some of you think it should be, it is about fun for most people. When your team runs a boring ineffetive offense a non press defense, and in addition is not winning then do not be surprised if they are not having fun, and no fun no butts, no dollars.

For some like me it is about loyalty which is why I went to the games I did this season, it was usually a tedious night, but I still made the 260 mile round trips.

About attendance and just for fun . . .

On an opportunity/urgency scale . . . it takes about 3 home basketball games (2.8) to equal 1 football game.

With 5 home games in football and 14 in basketball, it is easier to mentally put off attending a basketball game than it is to miss a football game.

It is easier to justify staying home for 7% of the season than it is to miss out on 20% of the season.

Football averaged 29,171 for about 145,855 on the season. Spread that out over 14 games and you get 10,418 per game.

Basketball averaged 3,675 per game, now if you take 2.8 games worth of attendance to get down to a 5 game season you have 10,290 a game. Probably 80% are the same fans but it could be said those 8% are more diehard basketball fans than any football fan, because I doubt 29,171 would be maintained if football had 14 home games, with games all over the calendar.

Now that is just one, there are a ton of ways to parse those numbers and yes in some ways they are apples and oranges but looking at the 2.8 games attendance total I can make the claim where right now basketball is garnering 38% of the interest that football is generating.

I guaranteed you that if the team had an incredible record this year(or any other year), all those people who have "too much going on" or "don't wanna make the drive" would have found time and a way to make it to each game. For those fans, if it's only worth it to them to "squeeze" in the game when the team is on top, they fit in the same category as Kyle.

I only made two games this year because I happened to be ill, working, or out on some other business. Besides, I have no allegiances that require me to show any loyalty to this or any other program. The support I have given to this school in the past is based soley on my own desire to pull for this school as I see fit. I owe you zero explanations & furthermore, it's idiots like yourself who drive most of the support that the school never sees away. People such as yourself & select others on here prove your undeniable stupidity every day without regard to season, by attemptIng to belittle people who do attend games, so what do you think someone new to town or who has not attended any in a certain amount of time are going to think when they read how you as a self described faithful follower, are going to act toward them?

Do you think the attitude you have is in any way conducive to growing the support of the program? Because I will obviously state for the record that it is not.

Actually, my attitude, his attitude or anyone else's attitude isn't hurting anything. Look at the increase in attendance for football and last years basketball.

I assume you feel that way about every other college, including LSU. Spend some time on Tigerdroppings and see if the insults don't fly.

BTW, I npriced in an earlier post that you stated that you had just gotten season tickets for the first time last year. Did someone grease the bandwagon handles so you couldn't climb on board before then? Or is your selective loyalty superior to everyone else's, well, because it's yours?
