Well, a home run is something. Christi goes 0-3 in the 5-1 win over Japan, then hits a solo shot in the 10-0 win over Venezuela.

She's having a tough tournament. This was her first hit in the tournament, she's batting .091 (1-11) and has struck out 3 times, which is tied for the most on the team. Valerie Arioto is the only other American player with a home run (2). They have two games left in the tournament, tomorrow against Australia, Thursday against Canada.

Actually, they have two more games in the Round Robin Tournament. The Championship bracket begins on Friday with the Championship game being on Sunday, July 17. As it is right now, we are in first place with 5 wins and 1 loss while Japan is second with 4 wins and 2 losses. These round robin places predicate the Championship bracket positions.

Christi has not played in the two games today. Hopefully she'll play in the championship game against Japan, but with the lowest batting average on the team, I'm not really expecting it to happen.
