Christi has not played in the two games today. Hopefully she'll play in the championship game against Japan, but with the lowest batting average on the team, I'm not really expecting it to happen.

As I figured, she's not starting.

That Japanese pitcher, Yukiko Ueno, has been giving the USA batters fits since the Olympics. She did not pitch in Canada except for the Finals. Our coaches need to figure her out before the World Cup in Oklahoma City this week.
I believe a person by the name of Holly Johnson from Kentucky has a BA of .200 while Christi's is .225. Check that out, I'm not sure, but I think Christi's is not the lowest. Plus one of the girls with high BA only played in one game. She hit a home run in that one. I noticed that the ones who played on Sunday were "experienced", had graduated a while back and from "softball" conferences. Many of them have been playing softball in Japan. Christi will work hard, and she will be on top. It will just take them a while to figure that out.
The winners in this will be the UL Ragin' Cajun softball team. I cannot wait to watch the Sun Belt pitchers shake in their cleats when they face her. Just thinking about that makes me laugh. Plus, everyone on our team will be popping their jersey buttons with pride in being on the same field with her. It's a WIN WIN!
Ragin' Cajuns softball All-American Christi Orgeron and the USA Softball Women's National Team step into the national spotlight this week when the World Cup of Softball VI opens Thursday, July 21 in Oklahoma City.
Five of Team USA's contests in the Word Cup, plus the championship game, will air across the United States on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN3.com. It marks the first opportunity for Cajuns fans to watch Orgeron and the 2011 version of Team USA on television.
The U.S. faces Australia, Canada, Czech Republic, Great Britain and Japan over the course of the tournament.
Orgeron and Team USA began preparations for the World Cup with exhibitions against the USA Softball Junior Women's National Team in Plant City, Fla., (June 25), Salem, Va. (June 29) and Bowie, Md. (July 1). The squad recently competed in the Canadian Open Fastpitch International Championship (July 9-17).
Orgeron is the first Ragin' Cajuns softball player to compete as a member of the USA Softball Women's National Team.
Tickets for the World Cup are available by logging onto www.softballoutlet.com or by calling 1-800-654-8337.
After soccer we need this.
USA plays Canada in the 2011 Softball World Cup, it is live on ESPN starting (now) at 1:00 for those who would like to watch
Christi is not in the lineup and has not played in OK City. Since they didn't play her against the weaker competition (Czech Republic & Australia), I doubt they will play her against Japan tonight.
She was the DP yestetday

USA seems to be struggling with hitting today, maybe they'll give her a try
I don't know where you are getting that. I watched the game and Katie Cochran was the designated player.
Correction: no wonder I missed it. They took her out as quickly as they put her in. I missed her walk in the third inning. The announcers didn't even say anything about her after she was taken out. That's about as bad as her not playing at all.
Christi is up to bat right now.
Oh well, she had her chance. Can't stand there and watch it.
USA loses 4-3. They better beat Japan tonight if they want to play in the championship.
