I hope they do to, but they missed the boat not telling Acadiana about the game.

  4. Default Christi Doing Her Part

OKLAHOMA CITY -- First-year coach Ken Eriksen is starting to see his group of youngsters transform into the Team USA of old.

Stacy May-Johnson hit a grand slam and UL All-American Christi Orgeron had a three-run double in a 10-run fourth inning, and the United States advanced to the World Cup of Softball championship game by beating Great Britain 10-0 Sunday

She almost drilled one down left field line, but it landed foul by a few feet...then she drills one deep center but caught few feet in front of wall. So close...

Christi and her USA team secured a win over Japan tonight in the World Cup of Softball. The game went seven innings and the score was 6-4. The young team, with only 6 USA National Team veterans, came together to beat a very seasoned Japanese team. The Japanese team had many players who had played in and won the gold at the 2008 Olympics.
Many of the players on the USA team are still in college and have never suited up in the USA uniform.

    Good Job, USA Eagles!

Surely you can't be so foolish young grasshopper. The Daily Advertiser will be too busy covering an LSU story or how a high school football players' three legged, one eyed, deaf and blind dog inspired him to cut his hair which in turn made him into a faster athlete. Just kidding about the latter but definitely don't get high hopes with the crummy paper in Lafayette we have to deal with.

She had a pinch hit at-bat that ended in a deep fly, before that she just missed what would have easily been a double but it went foul. As for Christi not getting a lot of playing time... this USA team is just ridiculously deep and it is a matter of the situation and who Ken Eriksen feels fits the need. Obviously he likes her a lot for him to consistently call her up in pinch hit situations.

Consider this; Megan Langenfeld who is an incredible player only had a pinch hit at-bat tonight and spent the rest of the night cheering the team on from the dugout with Christi and co.

Although Christi didn't play, they did do about a 20 second interview with her.
