They announced earlier today on WWL radio that Les Miles reportedly told Crowton "to look for another job".
What's sad is that Crowton was running Les' offense. If anyone on that staff deserves a huge extension its Chavis. Without Chavis' defense, I doubt they could make it to a bowl with a 100+ ranked offense. I'm sure he makes good money, but if I was John Chavis, I would point a finger at Les and say.....without me.....your nothing. Just sayin.
So who guarantees the 240 million in bond money they have outstanding. The seal of the state of LA is on all of the contracts. THAT makes their FACILITIES state funded. BTW, they can't borrow another dollar because they ARE hocked to the ceiling and can't build another athletic building until that balance is reduced drastically.
Was Crowton also running Les' offense at his previous stops? It has been pretty well documented that Crowton's offense has floundered everywhere after great initial success. As far as Chavis, he's one of the highest paid assistants in the country. Pelini had just as much success at LSU under Les. The head coach is responsible for stockpiling talent and surrounding himself with good assistants. While you can argue Miles isn't a great gameday coach, he's done a pretty good job managing the program to four 11 win seasons in his six years at LSU.
You are absolutely right in all your points here ... I can't figure out Crowton's floundering. He should only take 2 year contracts wherever he goes! As far as Les goes, maybe we are the ones that don't know anything about gameday coaching - he's won more often than losing and that's where it counts!
