I wish it were us that were lucky to have 11 wins 4 times in six years. Access to Talent/quality of coaching is for the most part a cherry picked given for the last decade for LSU@BR. It's no accident.
related subject to consistent performances.......
Coincidence or fact? Large amounts of oversigning, particularly by SEC West could soon be rubbing thin with other BCS conferences. SEC is by good margin the most abusive BCS conference for scholarship oversigning. All this winning may be more than a co-incidence. Could it be there is a unfair advantage from oversigning?
We have an abuser too in the SBC. The most consistent team in SBC in recent years (Troy) is by far the SBC's worst for oversigning. I'd say there are provable facts that support scholarship oversigning creates a competitive advantage.

I guess you missed the segment they did on ESPN the next day? They set up the same scenario and tested it ten times. Interestingly enough, it worked five of the ten times? Was it still a lucky bounce? Sure it was. There is no denying the actual play call that came from Les and company was on the money!
I too enjoy the anti-LSU rant as much as anyone. I just don't think it is logical to say that they were almost a 4-8 team. You play games to see who wins, one way or another, Les Miles and LSU have won a bunch of them. I hate them, I won't root for them. Les Miles may be the luckiest man in the universe. He should have bought a lottery ticket a long time ago.
However, I won't try to say that they aren't good.
You're right, there is quite an advantage to the oversigning. I won't call it unfair but rather unethical. I think this is a reaction to the amount of money that is now in college football; a win at all costs mentality. How a coach can get a player to commit to his school then tell him they don't have a scholarship just isn't right. I will be happy when this is reformed, and yes, I think that would also bring Troy down to earth.
I love the Mad Hatter all he does is win!!!!! I just wish it were at another school, because man do I hate LSU!!!!!!!!!!!
Part of the reason I like him so much is that the LSU ignorant fans, which are all of your Jonny come lately bandwagon fans want him fired because he is a horrible coach. LOL they are so dumb!
""He should have bought a lottery ticket a long time ago.""
He didn't have to buy a lottery ticket. He's so lucky, he just found a winning ticket and signed the back. (Actually, what he signed was a contract worth 4 million a year. I would say that's as good as a lottery contract).
in the last of the mohicans, when duncan lies about what transpired at the edge of the frontier to keep the settlers at the fort, hawkeye gives him the deadest look you ever saw, and says "i think you and i are going to have a misunderstanding." one of my faves.
now duncan later redeems himself by sacrificing himself for cora, and 'the long carbine' takes him out from long distance to save him from burning at the stake.
michael mann! i'm still one of about 6 people who think manhunter is better than silence of the lambs.
Ive tried so many times to watch that movie because I like Daniel Day Lewis as an actor. Just never had the opportunity. Manhunter is a version of Red Dragon. I liked Manhunter. I also liked Ratner's version of Red Dragon. I don't think you can compare Manhunter and Lambs. Different story. I see what your talking about though. Brian Cox does a great great Hannibal Lecter. As does Anthony Hopkins. Can we both agree that Hannibal was god awful?
I posted this link whenever Crowton was being considered a candidate. It changed my perception of him. This guy hit the nail on the head with his prediction...
