I am by no means a recruiting expert, and I want whomever is the best QB throwing the ball to Shaun. Gris to me is alot like T said, Chris Relf like. Runs well, very powerful, needs work on touch and is a project. Not someone that starts until maybe a redshirt Sophomore year. Guy's limitations are size. He has tremendous touch and accuracy, but needs a couple of years in a college weight room to get stronger and bigger. Neither guy is gonna win the job as a Freshman, but luckily because of Masson and Broadway they wont have to

I have always thought that a guy that can put the ball where you are when you get there is unstoppable -----If a receiver cannot get away from man coverage he should not be playing---I know where I am going and you don't know where I am going-----I win--the trick is to have the ball waiting at our rendezvous in an area where a late arrival of the defender has no bearing on the reception!!!! There is also a reason to take b-ball players as receivers--just like in b-ball they come up court read zone or man coverage and get open---squat or cut to find the area of getting an assist in b-ball or reception in f-ball!!!!!!!

I agree CajunRed, I let the staff evaluate kids for their system. I think this staff has suddenly found itself in a surprising position, the reaction to them has been more positive then they expected on the recruiting trail. The way the visits are starting to lineup, they may have to turn down some quality prospects at certain positions. I really did not expect to see that in their first recruiting calendar this soon.

    6'2"? Sure

I do not know about him being 6'2" but he does remind me of former Miami QB Ken Dorsey who was a bean pole but could fling it and was super accurate.

With all due respect to the young man, I'll wait to see him play a down in college before I'm comparing him to Ken Dorsey or any other solid collegiate QB. All of these guys were standouts at the high school level which sometimes leads us to think that they can do the same at this level. Its a lot different once they hit college. I'm not saying he wouldn't be a solid contributor. A QB who has a good footbal I.Q. can often make up for any physical limitations that they have. However, some people have made him out to be the next coming of Joe Montana.

i agree with what you said 100%, but if i gave you or anyone the impression i thought he was gonna set the world on fire day one on campus you read me wrong. I love the kid to death and think he deserves a shot, but i know and more importantly he knows he has work to do. He doesnt like nor want the comparisons. He doesnt wanna be the next anybody, he just wants to be Guy Billups. I seriously think he can compete at this level. But so can alot of QB's. Like has been said, depends on what you want or are looking for in a QB. Like i have said a bunch of times, most impressive thing to me is 4.0 gpa and 28 act. And the fact that He wants to be a Cajun, Offer him and he is done. That speaks volumes.

I agree. I hope it works out for him and if the staff believes in him, I will also. I just see the enthusiasm on this board about our previous commits as we should be excited. However, people make the comments that this may be the best class in a long time even though the actual signings haven't even taken place and the truth is, we don't know much about these young men. To me, it just seems a bit premature to be annointing coach Hudspeth the great recruiting phenom before he's even signed his first class and we've, at a bare minimum, seen guys play in the spring or fall scrimmages before putting such expectations on these players.

There seems to be a lot of exuberance around here about our recruiting but Scout currently rates our recruiting class at #109 of 120. ULM comes in at #91, while Tulane and La Tech are tied at #82. Is there something that we see that the people at Scout are missing?
