As a member of the Krewe de Chew I agree with you 100%!!! The "Roosta" dance is stupid, rediculous, crazy, etc..... THAT'S WHY WE LOVE IT!!!! In the event you haven't noticed, we certainly don't take it seriously. If you really knew anything about us, you would find that there are numerous other things we don't take seriously while tailgating. The negative comments that have been posted here are just a few examples of something we don't take seriously. Regardless of how you feel about our "Roosta" dance The Krewe de Chew still loves all of you and you are all still welcome to come by and visit!!!!

I find it damn near amazing people are complaining about the Roosta Dance. The Krewe de Chew are Ambassadors to not only UL but our Cajun Culture. I've had the pleasure of visiting their tent on a few occasions and have never left without being offered food and drink.

The thing is, everyone gets that treatment whether your a Cajun fan or an opposing fan. The Roosta dance is one of their traditions. It's all in good fun. Lâche pas la patate Krewe de Chew et Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez.

So, it would not be embarrassing if ESPN just showed a bunch of drunks sitting quietly and drooling all over themselves or just quietly cooking, but the minute a group has lively fun, it becomes embarrassing?

I'm still waiting for someone to thoughtfully and logically answer my prior posts with a well-reasoned response instead of just calling the dance "embarrassing" or "stupid". I'm taking it that is the only objection being voiced, and so far, it sounds like a guttural response.

Good morning Cajun Fans! Two more days unitl kickoff! We have beautiful weather and wonderful news. Just got word last night that ESPN will in fact NOT be filming @ the Krewe's tailgate. They will be covering a 7 minute segment at the booth/tailgate for Fesitvals Acadiens with live band coverage, opening ceremonies ("Cutting of Boudin"), with a mixture of daily tailgating activities.

This thread went over 10 pages roughly with a good even mixture of hate and love for the corn peckin recital....Hopefully no harm was done by me expressing my opinion. I'm just glad that some level headed decisions were made by upper management to keep our fightin peacocks under wraps for at least the time being. Feel free to procede in "Shaking yo tail feathers"........

I hope that everyone is now happy and we can just continue our tailgating tradition like we have been doing for a number of years! I suspect that all this discussion will instill some new life into the "Roosta"!!!! HaHaHa.................
