Heck yeah. That actually came off pretty well!

For those that are wondering, if you haven't seen it, go to Youtube, and search for Louisiana Tailgating. Good stuff.

As an outsider, and someone who has been invited to the Krewe De Chew (and someone who has partipated in the Roosta Dance) :

I think it's one of the greatest things I've ever seen at a tailgate, and I've been to many (Idaho, Utah State, Arizona, Tennessee, South Carolina, Illinois, FAU, Arky State, etc, etc).

Cajuns are lucky to have the cultural heritage (food, music, French language) that those of us in the "carpetbagging" Middle Tennessee area do not. Embrace it.

My 17-month old daughter now does the "Roosta" Dance every time she hears the word "chicken" or "rooster". If that is wrong, I don't want the Krewe De Chew to be right.

Us founding members of the Krewe De Blue tailgating group await in great anticipation to see the Roosta on national TV. Like others have said, who cares what others think ?

When you guys get tired of the Krewe De Chew, send our brothers on up to Murfreesboro. We are jealous and would take 'em in a hearbeat.

THAT IS NOT DANCING, IT IS 'TRYING TO IMITATE A CHICKEN. IF YOU CALL THAT DANCING THEN " YOU CAN'T DANCE BECAUSE THAT AIN'T DANCING, THAT'S HAVING FUN.

I just got word that ESPN will instead air one of the "Cajun" tailgates where the under 25 year olds have some gangsta tunes "playin" loud, unimaginative, no skill, foul-mouthed, fake hood stories. ESPN noted that they prefer showing younger people in full degeneration mode like they see all across America today.

Be proud that we won't be embarrassed by the Rooster Dance. We get to prove that our young people stumble and bumble around their tailgates listening to stupid, worthless music just like all the other young tailgaters across America. "Thank goodness"!

Be Thankful, Be Very Thankful that ESPN will not be airing the Krewe De Pukes classic "Cock Fighting Rooster Dance" all across America. This little song and dance is a complete Debacle and should be performed in an enclosed tent enviornment. I heard that Troy from Swamp People will be singing lead vocals during the "Roosta" song. "Shhhhhoooooooot It, Treeee Shaaakkkeeerrrr!!!" You Stay Classy San Diego....

This is a cleverly designed plot to encourage the recruitment of more local players...because every college coach that recruits against us outside this state will have the video of this on their iPhone to play for the recruits mother...

All kidding aside, I say let the Roosta's Rumble, social suicide at it's finest, because it's never too late to have a happy childhood...

Doyle, don't be talking bad about Troy LeBlanc, the star of Swamp People! He's a first cousin to the Krewe de Chew's "Roosta" on the opposite side of my Mama's family. If you don't straighten up I'll get him to SHOT U IN DA BEAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How dare people have fun, indeed.

Again, I ask you, how is it any different from a "Second Line"? Or any other line dance? If anything, the great thing about this dance is that anyone can do it. This ain't "So you think you can dance?" (More like: 'So you think you can Roosta?')

Seriously? WHAT is offensive or embarrassing about it? I fail to see what is so bad about it. Again, is it the fact that it looks "country" or something like that? Is it that it involves cajun or zydeco music?

Who claimed that the Krewe "represents" you? They just represent the Krewe.

That's the beauty of it. Even the kids can join in. Seriously? Are we getting elitist about our dancing at a frickin' field full of tailgaters? This ain't opera. It's football.

That embarrasses you? Seriously? Why? I really don't understand what is "embarrassing" about it.

Seriously....? It's "gay"? You're talking about a sport where over twenty players dress up in tights and regularly pat each other on the @$$, but someone dancing and having fun is gay?

If it is that embarrassing, I'm sure you can look into getting another spot.... Who was there first really doesn't matter. We pay for the spot just like you do.

Maybe I'm totally missing something, but I don't see how dancing to zydeco music is reinforcing any stereotypes.... _
Let me just clear something up. First of all I have several people I consider freinds in the krewe. I have not been embarrassed by the krew to this point. I think what they do for the most part is great. I have no problem with the rooster dance that you do every tailgate. My only problem was putting it on ESPN and saying to the world this is Louisiana tailgating. I personally think it would tell the world that we all dress up like chickens and peck around the barn yard as a pre game ritual.

AS for "who was their first does it really matter. We pay for the spot just like you" That was only said because Bird said "if you don't like it just stay away". So he is telling me not to tail gate at my friends spot as if he owns the freaking place.

If you guys want to rooster dance, by all means rooster all night long until the sun comes up and then let out a big COCK A DOODLE DOO like all good roosters do at sunrise. The rooster may be a great Krewe Da Chew tradition but please do not confuse that with a great Ragin Cajun tradition which is what ESPN would potray it as if it were to be aired on pre game. Which I happen to think would not be fair to the other 20k at Cajun feild. If ESPN were to film you guys at any other point in your tailgate when people are not dressed like chickens scratching in the barn yard I think that would be a perfect example of Cajun tailgating tradition!
