    Default NCAA baseball RPI

NCAA has released what I think is their first rpi rankings of the 2010 baseball season. Teams of interest:

    Sun Belt
    17. Western Kentucky
    47. South Alabama
    53. Cajuns
    56. Arkansas State
    59. Florida International
    67. Florida Atlantic
    71. Troy
    76. Middle Tennessee State
    151. Arkansas-Little Rock
    162. Monroe
    174. New Orleans

    Others
    16 LSU
    44. Southeastern LA
    55. Northwestern State
    98. McNeese
    172. Louisiana Tech
    211. Centenary

Question for Goingolfin. If the Cajuns win 75% of their remaining games and go deep into the conference tournament is their a chance at an at-large bid. I would think if we win 75% of our remaining games our RPI would be in the top 40 and we should be in the top 3-4 in the conference standing this might be just enough with history and fan base to sneak in? The Sun Belt as a conference is a solid 5th place in overall conference standings according to warrennolan.com only behind the traditional power conferences for baseball.

Two things I saw that I liked: 1) the Cajuns RPI is rising and we're not in terrible shape... and 2) Tech and Monroe's RPIs both suck.

Is anyone else surprised by our RPI? It really isn't bad at all, with chances to improve against WKU and Tulane.

Where does LeMoyne Rank in the RPI?

The Cajuns' Base RPI and Adjusted RPI actually fell after yesterday's games. Heading into Tuesday (after Monday's games), the Cajuns had a Base RPI of .5612 and an Adjusted RPI of .5624 (.0012 bonus). That was good for a rank of (51,53) respectively.

After yesterday's games (most notably the win over Houston Baptist), the Base RPI stood at .5608 with the Adjusted RPI at .5620 (a drop of .0004). However, due to other results from Tuesday, the Cajuns actually leapfrogged Pittsburgh and Boston College in the Adjusted RPI rankings (#51). The Cajuns' Base RPI ranking is #50.

Brian what would a season ending run like UL had in 2003 do for the RPI?

In 2003 UL's RPI was 217 on March 17th and climbed all the way up to 49 by season end. LINK
