A team can have all the wins it wants, but the school's administration would have to support a bowl trip for it to happen. If the school doesn't think the payout is enough to justify the trip, then it will simply opt out and the next team will get a shot.
We will see what happens in about 12 hours after Hawaii lost last night/early this morning.

You guys need to stop torturing yourselves. We don't deserve a bowl game and if some bowl was stupid enough to ask we should say no. We will not bring the fans nor the team to make it worth our wild. I want a bowl game badder than anyone but not this way.
At some point you want to be able to say you have "been to 5 straight bowls" or able to hear "they have been to a bowl 4 of the last 6 years." At that point no one will remember if you were 6-6 in the first one.
There is simply no bad way ("this way") to get into a bowl game. "Worth our while" has payments indefinitely not just this year.

Does anyone know if the UL Admin has got any calls or has made any calls to Lobby a bowl game?
I spoke to one of the Coaches last night and all he said was "they were trying as hard as they could to get us in". I think they learned from last year that it takes politics and lobbying your team to get into games. Not sure if we will still get in, but I think we definitely learned a lot about the bowl process from last year's bowl fallout.
Here are some updated (TODAY) projections. Notice UCLA, NIU, BG, Troy, MT, etc. have all moved around.
I have a feeling we'll be sitting home again...
