Bowls aren't going to set up a MAC vs MAC matchup. Will never happen because it won't sell tickets. The MAC might turn down a bid due to financial concerns. The conference will lose money playing in the EagleBank and Humanitarian Bowls as an at-large. Bowling Green is the school I keep hearing that might sit it out.

If the option is Texas, its not as likely that UCLA will go there, UCLA might choose to go to eaglebank or Pizza bowl, which is bad for us because both of those are against MAC teams already I believe, meaning that if an "at large" MAC team were to go, it would be a Mac v. Mac Matchup, which is REALLY not wanted by bowl comittees, and would be bad for the MAC, thus why they would rather choose to not go to a bowl, than go to a bowl and essentially have a late season conference game.

Updated SI.com has UCLA in the H-Bowl.

Could Cajuns go to Detroit, instead of BGSU ?

They might as well go ahead and make that game an SBC tie-in.

But that WOULD be best for the conference.

There will be precious little time to sell tickets to New Orleans, and several other bowls.

Do the Cajuns have a marketing plan in place ? Each bowl requires a marketing plan before distributing a bid (at least for teams on "our" level).

Hope the Cajuns make it ! _
Sometimes I don't think they even have a clue much less a marketing plan.

If the bowl selections are tomorrow, how does the outcome of the Army-Navy game next weekend play into the Cajuns bowl hopes?

If a conference has a contract with a bowl to provide an eligible member to play in the bowl game, can it simply decide to opt out of its obligation if it feels like it? Can the MAC really get away with this even if there is a bowl eligible MAC team available?

Right now, 67 of 68 bowl openings are filled. If Hawaii and/or Army win, that would leave no spots for an at-large team.

So those two games are huge.
