I started my novena about a week or two ago. I WANT us to win badly.
But I also realize what we're up against.
We've come along way. I remember in 2006, Bustle was talking about how excited the team was just to play in tiger stadium and how big it was in their eyes. That the awe factor was just too much.
He doesn't talk about the "awe" anymore. As another poster said, Bustle said we're going in there to take our shots and try to be in a position to win it in the 4th quarter. I've never heard him talk like that about any other big time opponent. I believe he means it.
This team will be as best prepared for this opponent as any in our team's history. Even then, there's a fair chance that it might not be enough.
But if they play as best they can, they've won in my book regardless of the scoreboard. Read John Wooden's definition of Success in my sig line and you'll get my meaning.
