I know it is a long shot but if we play well and LSU stinks up tiger stadium then we will have a chance. You guys are acting like we already lost the game! I hope the team doesn't go into Saturdays game with that attitude.
I think out of the years we have played LSU, this is our best chance yet. I believe the team will have a great attitude going into the game. Despite what some may think or swear they know, the team and Bustle never take these games lightly, we always prepared to win it was never about the money. Let people say what they want but I think all will be pleasantly surprised. One key is to realize that LSU will score, we cant let that discourage us. Also we need good ball placement on special teams. This means punts to 20 or further and the same for kickoffs. Protect the ball and work an even passing and running game. Forget that it is LSU or Death Valley, its a football game on a Saturday night in Louisiana.
I've come to the conclusion that you get way too high and entirely too low on the athletic program in general. I choose to look at the reality of the situation. It is all about perception and having realistic expectations of your team and program. I'm realistic enough to know that this is a huge longshot. Can it be done? Mathematically sure. Can this coaching staff pull out enough stops to give us a chance? I don't think so. But the reality is that this team is not on the level of an LSU. Again, if the stars align anything can happen but I choose to understand that under normal conditions they will not. My expectations of this team are to play solidly throughout the year but I question how many wins that will translate into due to youth and inexperience at crucial positions.
"This week we're facing a heckuva team, one we think we can play with. We're coming after 'em." Coach Bustle quote.
Read the notes from the QBack Club meeting. This is the first time I can remember that Bustle exhibited that attitude. I have been waiting for him to say that for 8 years. We finally have the players we need to make that kind of comment. Hey, we might not beat LSU, but they had better watch out. We are coming to play with an attitude that we can beat them.
Yea, I'm not a fan of the idea that anyone who thinks we may lose is a negative, etc. I think many of us are being realistic and are bracing ourselves for the worst and hoping for the best.
I'd much rather be wrong and win than to run my mouth saying we will win or have a tremendous shot at winning and then we get smashed. I dont think I'm being negative but rather am giving an honest evaluation of our team's chances.
That being said, I'm not looking for a 30 pt loss at all. I will hold onto the hope that we are close later in the 2nd half and we'll go from there but I know what we are up against.
LOL! I was there Saturday supporting my team. Some of you are so use to losing you expect to lose. I was concerned about SU. I wasn't the only one. I was one of the few that wasn't afraid to speak his mind. The main thing I was worried about was if we did lose our season would have been shot.
