And send a clear message to those who chose to wager against us :-)
The first goal this Saturday is to win the point margin battle, anything beyond that is gravy!
Let's have some fun on the field, avoid injuries, and beat the spread!!!
My prediction is a very competitive game and the Cajuns will score at least twice this time.
LSU is not the overpowering physical team of the last several years. Remember fans those teams rarely lost to ANYONE.
"ACTUAL AFFILIATION" with the University that they choose to support. _
How true how true, I live in New Iberia and see it all the time from the locals, wanta-bee fans that think LSU is just a football stadium, don't even realize that there is a university there, college what college....education what education.....
Geaux Cajuns!!
Upset special week #2 - UL 24 - LSU 21
I'm tired of all this "never scored a touchdown at tiger stadium" nonsense. I can assure you nobody on this team cares. It is pretty obvious from the first two weeks of play that these two teams are more evenly matched than in the previous two meetings, and the Cajuns know that.
Cajuns bust that as$:
Cajuns: 35
Tigers: 1 (Tigers get a safety, but get docked one point for too many fans switching band wagons at the end of the third quarter)
I have to disagree here. SU and KSU are not accurate parallels to Washington and Vandy. Say what you will, but Vandy was much better Saturday night than many expected. I don't think that it had anything to do with LSU not being as good a football team -- Vandy is just getting better.
All we have to look at are stats and the final scores. I for one did not expect LSU to win both games by 40+ points. As the season plays out, people will see both Vandy and Washington as quality opponents. I'd be surprised if KSU wins 4 games this year.
In the past, LSU has played cupcakes to open each season, arriving at the UL-LSU tilt with inflated stats and egos. That is not the case this year, and I fully expect LSU to come into this game with an attitude they've never had before when facing UL -- we must win and win big to justify our status as a top ten team. Maybe this added pressure will work against LSU and benefit UL, but in the end I don't think its going to be close.
LSU 32
UL 17
This LSU team looks dreadful compared even to last year. The defense is still trying to find itself, while the offense is not confident in their QB at all. Jefferson will make a lot of short throws and Lafell, Tolliver, Dickson etc.....will break a few big gains. Ultimately though, the running game will give UL problems.
I think this will be a tight game just like every other game LSU has played this year.
UL sticks in there for a half.
FINAL
LSU: 35
THE U of Louisiana: 17
