I started my novena about a week or two ago. I WANT us to win badly.

But I also realize what we're up against.

We've come along way. I remember in 2006, Bustle was talking about how excited the team was just to play in tiger stadium and how big it was in their eyes. That the awe factor was just too much.

He doesn't talk about the "awe" anymore. As another poster said, Bustle said we're going in there to take our shots and try to be in a position to win it in the 4th quarter. I've never heard him talk like that about any other big time opponent. I believe he means it.

This team will be as best prepared for this opponent as any in our team's history. Even then, there's a fair chance that it might not be enough.

But if they play as best they can, they've won in my book regardless of the scoreboard. Read John Wooden's definition of Success in my sig line and you'll get my meaning.

I didn't know you were a McNeese fan. I was in Lafayette watching us beat Kansas state. I hope you had a good time in the mountains. I hear it is beautiful this time of year.

I'd also like to add that looking at this game realistically is way better than the delusional.

Look at the Monroe board, their 15 fans are absolutely convinced that they'll beat Arizona State in Arizona this weekend. They're in for some massive disappointment.

Like I said I think it is a long shot but after we have played the last two weeks I'm surprised that we are not more excited about this game. I would like the big paycheck and a win as I'm sure all of us would like. I wouldn't dare bet the house on a Cajun win but it is not impossible. It is football. Wasn't Michigan like in the top 5 win Appy State beat them?

Not sure who I want to win. If McNeese wins it takes a little sting out of the debacle two years ago but I believe the Cajuns and Tigers are the only state schools to beat Tulane. Not sure if I want McNeese to claim a share of that. This thread is suppose to be about the Cajuns and LSU but DC always seems concerned about my where abouts. I think it is sweet.

To me, it knocks Tulane off of their high horse and uppity position in C-USA with a loss to a 1AA school and it takes the sting out of UL losing to McNeese with another 1A program losing to them. In my mind, McNeese is like Appalachian State, one of the top 1AA programs in the country and would beat a lot of schools (and just beat Appalachian State on the road). They almost knocked off N. Carolina a year or so ago. Kudos to them and moreso if they can knock off Tulane.

One team does not have to "be on the same level" as another team to beat them.

    You should know this already.

Also, unless this is all make believe, we have a shot. Crazier things have happenned.
