2009 hit 229 didn't make an error in 31 chances

Gotta hit better to play 3rd base _
Thanks. For whatever reason, I just thought he had done better than that.

I'm not here to make people who play D1 ball feel good. When my brother played ball here we had to listen to all the critics, I am not the only one.

Here is one to make us all "feel good" Les Smith is transferring to a D-II school in good ole rocky top. Just got that first hand info tonight.

2bag has it right, he should know. Production!

Prob because he won't have to sit out a year if he goes D II. Robe probably didn't give him his release to a school or schools that he was hoping he could attend.

Or probably because his old man is pushing him to go JC so he can go into the draft next season. But heck, that'sRob's fault.

I am pretty certain that the new transfer rule is now in effect so baseball is now saddled with the same rule as basketball, and football. You must sit out a year if you transfer to another Div 1 program.

I believe next year is also the first year of the new scholarship limits which if memory serves correctly will mean 27 scholarship players maximum and you cannot issue less than a 1/3rd of a full scholarship.

Maybe if he goes D II he will hit over 300

Who is the team to pay a lot of money to a 280 hitter?

and don't give me the He's a freshman and he will do much better than that, Taylor Dugas hit 350 as a freshman in the SEC, if you can hit or you can hit.

I'm not going to knock him, he is a good kid. I think he has great potential. When it's official, I'm going to lay the rest of the story out. Again, there a few people on this board trying trash Rob over Benzel and Smith. He has nothing to do with the decision of Smith, but the kids father is right in the middle of fantasy dream land.

I'm not bashing him either, I just think he thinks the grass is greener on the other side. Its hard to get the grass greener than it is in Lafayette.
