Thread: NIL No Compete

  1. Support NIL No Compete

There is a NIL no compete, so why are athletes allowed to talk to other schools while under scholarship?

It is easier now for athletes to transfer portal out than it was for students in my day to even change majors.

I seriously think the ncaa is not enforceing the "on track to graduate" periodic completion eligibility milestones

They aren’t allowed until in the portal per NCAA rules. However, they get around that by agents doing the dirty work.

The majority of schools require last 30 hours to be completed in residence. If someone transfers with only one semester left until graduatiom, by definition they are not on track to graduate amd should be ineligible

who says they have to be “on tract to graduate” on or before their athletic eligibility ends

Its ok, they can still transfer illegally to a P4, even if under NIL no compete, because the p4 does not compete with the G5

Another potent reason not to use the term "student athlete"

The athletes arent reaching out to anyone.. You have pieces of ____ like Brandon Shelvin going to schools like Houston and saying "what you would pay for Lunch Winfield?"

They shop around for offers and then quietly go to Lunch and say "if you enter the portal we can get you $XYZ"

NCAA: 40 percent of required coursework for a degree must be complete by the end of the second year, 60 percent by the end of the third year and 80 percent by the end of their fourth year...
Technically should graduate sooner than eligibility running out
