Outside of Native Americans, how can the only school in the country to claim it's local population it's own not be #1 in media value?

Great point. And one could argue we are also native americans, as our residence in modern day Louisiana pre-dated the existence of the U.S. Constitution

  3. Poll Re: Media Value of Louisiana and SBC Schools

Highest viewed SBC game of 2026 belongs to the winner, Louisiana.

Total viewership numbers from last week.

I believe the media market is there. I believe the potential is there for UL to draw 50,000+ fans for games.

This may be my fandom speaking, but I truly think we have more potential than Tulane. The key is making fan engagement, winning, game day experience, and marketing Louisiana a priority, and involving the entire Acadiana region.

That means moving away from a purely Lafayette tradition and embracing a regional identity . We need to go all in on Louisiana.

It has to feel like a major university. Right now, the administration has not done what is necessary to make that happen.

    I agree.

50,000 - that may be the funniest thing I have read here in a long while - even funnier than the big fish’ 75% success rate

Why do the big boys, with a high media value get their games on network tv for free, yet those with a low media value have to pay extra for espn+'s of the world. Seems if we are the ones paying we have more value. Anyone could be on free tv for nothing

…….So we have a number 700k and Tulane has 43k……need to recruit with this……TURN AROUND TIME1……we need one more to wrap up the year……oh btw no academic surprises!!

MTV had 77,000 average viewers in 65th place among channels, but hey TooLame should be in CFP.

Im not sure they should even be in American Conf title game, they didnt hold a true 3 way tiebreak. They gave them the spot automatically because they were ranked and then did just a 2 way tie break between navy and UNT

I disagree, the ceiling is somewhere around 30-35k in attendance. You are correct that we can get 50-60k around Cajun Field on gameday though.

The administration is absolutely clueless on how to get this done though. All they see is dollar signs. They don’t care about anything else.
