I just thought since the other Sunbelt schools televise volleyball and soccer, we would too

If Texas couldn’t make it work, not happening here.

No, the Longhorn Network was generally not profitable for ESPN and was reported to have lost around $40 to $50 million in its first five years of operation, though figures vary. While the network provided a significant income stream for the University of Texas, with a 20-year, $300 million partnership with ESPN, it struggled with distribution and viewership, and its high costs and low revenue eventually led to its closure in 2024 after Texas moved to the SEC

I'm not saying that the way they did it wasn't expensive, but I suspect they moved all kinds of expenses on the back of the network just to clean some books.

The truth is it was no longer worth it after a move to the SEC.

I wouldn't doubt that shutting it down was a prerequisite for getting an SEC invite.

It can't happen here ... Volleyball is free.

Ouch. A split on the road is not bad. TXST is the usually at the top of the league.

  8. UL Volleyball VB: Cajuns Split in San Marcos

The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Volleyball team had the momentum taken away in the first two sets allowing Texas State to take a firm lead and go on to claim a 3-0 win (31-29, 25-19, 25-18) on Saturday, September 27 in the finale of a Sun Belt series at Strahan Arena in San Marcos, Texas.
